I have been living separated now from my wife (and 2 kids) since January 18th. This has been such a roller coaster at times. The kids seem to stay with the wife more often just because of travel logistics. But at times I miss the "family life". I know the wife and I had went for such a long time as being roommates and probably the separation is needed and should of happened a long time ago. But I do get lonely and depressed. If you are reading this, do you ever think that you should just say heck with it and go back and try and make it work again? I don't know what to do anymore. Ugh!!!

I think that sometimes, but then I remind myself of why we split and I don't want to go back there again. This use to happen a lot, but is lessening but it does flare up from time to time. Hang in there it does get better - see my earlier post on acceptance - a long time coming!

Thanks!! You just sit and wonder am I doing the right thing. Should I put up another fight to make it work. That is what goes in my mind as of late. I know my daughter seems to be handling it great. My son is having trouble at times. And I do soooo much miss the daily interaction. I think sometimes that if my wife would maybe come to me and say something like, "Do you want to go talk to someone about us and see what can happen?" it probably have an effect on me.

I think that it is worth trying to save your marriage. Just because you and your wife had problems doesn't mean you can work them out if you both want to. Who initiated the separation? Maybe she does want to work on it too but doesn't know how to say it. Take the reigns and ask her if she really wants to try to work on it. At least then you will have your answer. I miss my husband tremendously. I would give anything for him to want to work on our marriage. For him to say those words to me, mean it and follow through. I hope that it works out for you.

I think we all think this at some point. After all the changes are not easy. It takes two to make things work so both have to want that and with kids we don't want to give false hope. It's bad enough when we feel this way.

Definitely not looking to give false hope!

Would your wife be on board with reconciliation? You say you two haven't been intimate in years (sounds familiar) and your really haven't been apart that long, so loneliness is to be expected as it's a huge adjustment after so long as a family. It would probably take some serious work but if you are both willing to try and fix it that's half the battle. If one or the other is simply done and won't consider counseling or even discussing continuing than that's a whole different ball game. Good luck to you.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
