Good job man, I think given the circumstances you did the right thing. And your (step)daughters both know how much you care.

Tailspin - I think you handled the whole situation in a very responsible, heartfelt way. I'm sorry you were not there for your stepdaughter as you would have liked to but there was no need to trip your emotional/mental trigger if you know you are not prepared/ready.

I need to set clearly defined boundaries with some of our mutual friends. I got a call from one of our female mutual friends and she said my wife posted a Facebook status that said,
"Many blame their current situations on fate, some on God, but for me, I blame it on making poor decisions."
I told our mutual friend if she ever calls me to talk about my wife that I'm not only going to unfriend her on Facebook, but in real life as well.
This is the second time a mutual friend provided me with unwelcomed updates on my wife.

I'm tempted to send a group text to all of our mutual friends to just STFU when it comes to talking to me about my wife. Hard to move forward when people keep dragging you back in.

Ah well what was the purpose in telling you this? I would chalk it up to her wanting to befriend you and connect with you even if it is extremely annoying for anyone to do it. She probably did make poor decisions. She left you right ;-) Smile.
