My boyfriend has been emotionally abusive since the beginning and I know that but I still keep taking him back. Part of his emotional abuse that has happened like a hundred times is if he is upset (angry) at me he leaves, won't talk for sometimes a month, then wants me back. Any time I ever have tried to talk to him if there is a problem or I want to express my feelings about a problem he shuts me down, does all the emotionally abusive stuff like silent treatment, won't validate any of my feelings, and won't understand any of my feelings even someone (usually his family member) has purposely don't something to be hurtful to me. So this time he turned a laughing funny playful situation into an anger and slapping in response to my play! We were in the car and I had been telling him he should cut down on Monsters and cigarettes because we are getting older and it is bad for him and he said "Everything is bad for you" and playfully I swatted him on the head (of which he has a thick head of hair). I know I didn't do it hard but I think he got irritated because I was saying something real and he usually doesn't like me when I do and he turned angry and used my playful action as an excuse to slap the hell outta my leg. I had three red finger marks on my thigh above my knee. It went away in a while but I am thinking this is a bad sign because usually he doesn't hit me. He says I hit him first and I say "I barely touched you on the hair" but he insisted I hit him hard and that is why he slapped my leg and yelled at me. It was really a wake up call I think. I have not been intimate with him since and have trouble with even the thought of it at this point. I think he is beginning to get angry at that too. So will he blow up soon? Is he going to hit me? I told him if he ever hits me again I'll call the cops and I am not going to put up with that ever again. He knows my sons father was abusive for 12 years and he often asks me a lot of questions about that and I don't like talking about it then he uses it when he fights with me as a tool to imply how its all my fault and that is why my ex was abusive. He actually uses anything personal I tell him as ammo later. I know I should get out of this relationship but it is hard for me to actually lay the law down and do it for good. Because I always let him talk me back in in the past a hundred times, not even kidding.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Do you find that being in a abusive relationship is better than being in no relationship at all?
Sorry, but I don't see him getting any nicer to you, only meaner.
do you feel physically worse now than you did a year or more ago?
He is one of many men that fit a similar profile.
You have identified that you have taken this man back many times. Have you tried to discover what makes you do this?
I'm sorry you've had to survive such cr*p in your life! :(
Like Namaste said, I think it's time to love yourself. You did an awesome job bringing up your son, right? Working with him, guiding him. So now do the same for yourself... get away from that loser you're with. Love yourself. Then--and only then--find someone else who'll love you.
I am not meaning that harsh either - I suffered from codependancy and low self esteem - which really go hand in hand. You have had 3 therapists and not one of them has given you a treatment plan to help with your codependancy/self esteem issues?
