I am not currently at home so I don't have any music in my room and I left my MP3 player at home.
Thanks for the suggestions..Some of them may help but who knows.
Avoid anything exciting for a few hours before bedtime. That means no cop shows, no balancing your checkbook, no participating in squabbles on DS, and no reading emails from the X.
Go to bed every day about the same time.
Don't eat large meals right before bed. Eat enough earlier in the day.
But drink a hot drink before bed, no caffeine.
Cut down on caffeine all day.
Drink lots of water all day.
Exercise in the daytime, something like swimming or yoga or whatever you like. Not right before bed.
My own addition is, find something to read that is somewhat interesting, not riveting, and totally different from your life.
Take a walk outdoors for a few minutes before bedtime.
Get a pet or a stuffed animal and pet it at bedtime.
This will pass.
Short term? Advil PM. I am mud.
(Or anything with diphenhydramine e.g. Benadryl, etc.)
I had to move a TV into the Bedroom, which I was always against. Flicking thru the pathetic though addictive reality shows and infomercials knocks me out. But you must have a sleep timer on the set. Waking up to the Bullet Food Processor at 4:30AM is NOT conducive to a solid night.
Think of a soothing word that is a feeling you would like to experience to clear your head: calm, peace, safe, etc. whatever works for you. Just repeat it over and over n your mind to clear the clutter in your brain.
