Agree with Frank on selective support. It's usually a free country, and we can choose to support whoever for whatever reason.
OK...bad Patti....
And 'take what works for you, and leave the rest' was how my old LaLeche meetings used to start. It would be great if that could become a ds theme. Ah well, no one ever said the world would work the way I wanted it too.....

we let emotion run us, and we say harsh things that are uncalled for-why isn't part of our growth to learn to walk a way and not call somebody a psycho? Or even better, learn to tell them what we think they need to hear without the name calling. Anyway, since I am on my soap box. . . . .
I think I expect to allow the serious threads to stay serious. I expect that the silly threads are allowed to take whatever course they take. I expect people to form friendships and cliques and that sometimes that will upset people that are "not a part of the clique". And I expect, that in my darkest moments-that people have the empathy to understand my pain, after all we have all been there, to understand my need to be hidden from the real world while by very core is aching, and to for people with compassion to reach out and tell me they don't know how, but somehow everything will be alright.
Oh, and of course it's been a pretty good dating site for me.
Maybe I am all hopped up on hope today but there are truly some amazing people, representing many collective years of pain and recovery here.
I personally spent about 8 years in ACOA meeting and have gottem more support , encouragement, insight and personal growth from these fellow-virtual, and in at least one case, a real life humanoid-travellers than I ever got there.
It is true that you should "take what you like and leave the rest". I don't go in for all OT stuff, but boy howdy, I would probably not be where I am today if it were not for a few pewople here and my own special most awesome self.
I would like to have few more guy friends on here, that's for damn sure.
It work if you work it...whatever "it" is. Lol.
Rock on, sir, rock on.
