Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
What do you really expect to get out of DS? I mean, an online support group can only provide so much support. This is not to say that being here does not help with the healing process...I'm simply stating that if you hold DS to such a high standard, then you may be in for a let down during your time here...

I expect you to write only what I want to read.
I expect DSers to tell me how wonderful I am... lol
All kidding aside, very good post Rman. I learned very early on, to take everything with a grain of salt. "To take what I like and to leave the rest." But I have also learned from those with opposing or different POVs.
i get to choose what i beleive, read and respond to. I also get to choose to ignore things / I do not like
Honestly, I do believe some folks expect too much out of a website they use for free.
On the other hand, I got lectured at one point here that this is a support site. I try to take that to heart, so if I find I am doing something other than support or posting something additive on a serious thread (i.e.-- I don't want to give my opinion just for the sake of giving my opinion), I won't post. I think there are folks that could do well with that mindset.
"Take what you can from here and leave the rest." really should be the motto for this website.
I take what I need, and let the rest go. I don't have expectations for this site as that would set me up for disappointments, and the big thing; I still want that samwich that tenacity had;-)

We're not obligated to blindly support here. We can exercise our own judgment to condemn or not.
When I provide any support, it actually helps me realize what I have learned from this whole process. So, not only am I providing support to others, but I am also supporting myself by being supportive...
kind of like wearing tighty whities...very supportive...
There is no obligation by me, you or anyone else to respond to a thread that you may have an opinion or take on just for the sake of giving an opinion. Actually, it's a waste of my time and energy in my view. Again, just how I roll.
So, Frank, if this is not a support site, what is it? Just curious on your take on this.
