Wow, this is very interesting, as I feel the same way. I have been on a couple of dates since the separation from my wife. Initially there is positive rush and signs of possibility. But almost immediately after the date my mind and soul put the brakes on. It is as if I am almost physically sick about the thought of another date or a relationship. It really reminds me of an old Cat Stevens song.....The first cut is the deepest. Could it be that we all have been cut too deep and we are creating a "defense mechanism" internally to prevent that from happening again? Well, at least that is what I am telling myself at this point!

the connection / energy = the attraction you are looking for. You know it cus you said it. Its a like a taste, this flavor, (for a lack of a better word), that all your being needs to have to be satisfied. Sure, one could meet someone and there is an attraction because of looks, a smell, mannerisms or other physical attributes, but that will fade if that certain element that hits those specific needs in our wiring, that element inside of us that comes alive when that energy is also found is not present.

To me, if you have ever felt that energy /attraction you need before, you know what it feels like and will seek it out again whether you try to or not. Its the cloth you come from. When we are younger, we can suffice with that minimal attraction that doesn't fullfill us totally cus we haven't yet experienced enough. But as one gets older, and experiences come, we start to really learn and see what it is that we truly need and then, we just don't settle anymore.
