Is that group no longer working? Because I have tried to go to it, and it says that that page doesn't exist??

my stbx and i had an inclination to polyamoury but never found any people that we really spent all that much time with to be considered an extra in our relationship, except for a fun friend.

i would like to to consider myself polyamourous. i am now sort of/almost single and we'll see how others like my non-monogamy stance i've adopted over the years.

no, the group no longer exists. If any of you know my history you'll know that my foray into the world of poly left me with PTSD after 5 suicide attempts... so i can't really talk about it or anything without having panic attacks, flashbacks, etc.

I am still *technically* poly since I am still allowed to see other people although many would consider me not true poly because my H is NOT allowed to see other people.

so anyway, i had to close the group down and i cannot be any part of it.. it brought up too many really bad things for me.

cin, if they don't about each other it's cheating, not poly. please tell thema bout each other.. it's the only fair and right thing to do.

I'm glad that you brought this subject up, because I was wondering if there were other couples on here in that lifestyle :)
Me and my bf have been in that lifestyle for 2 years now, we love it, it really brings us closer together, we always make sure that we are always together (with the other couple, of course) and are always honest to each other and it's a big turn on for both of us :)

Listen.. seriously.. poly is a bad idea. i got into it because i was misled about what it was about and all that.. i've found that MOST (not all) people who get into the poly scene are very selfish and only care about themselves.. it's supposed to be different from swinging because you form actual relationships.. but you don't.. it's everyone just wanting everything for themselves... i've have talked to many many poly couples on the boards i used to belong to who have admitted that when they were mono they had NOT been cheated on by their SO but when they became poly they DID get cheated on... usually the women end up being the victims, but not always. nothing good comes out of this lifestyle.. you WILL get hurt.

oh i'm sorry.. i mistook poly from swinging.. I'm in the swinging lifestyle, not poly, and this swinging lifestyle works for me and my bf.. we are both bisexual and we get both of the worlds, as to say, while being together, and the most important part is always being honest with each other.

abbylou, communication, listening to your partner's feelings, honesty... all things that would be necessary in any lifestyle where you're sharing your loved one. bisexuality.. seems to be less painful on an emotional level because there's no "why does he need another woman? he has one" type of feeling or visa versa. i don't know if you let him have sex with other women or not. my experience in the poly world is that those necessary things like listening, being kind, being honest, etc, do not exist. i talked with so many people who had a hard time accepting their mate was sleeping with someone else or having a romance and asked them to back off and they refused.. thus it became cheating because it was no longer okay. it seems this has happened to everyone in every poly relationship i've seen. which has led me to believe that people in general, but especially people who are poly are inherently selfish and unempathetic and really don't care about their partner's feelings once they have "permission" to be with someone else. there are exceptions to that rule (i was one of them, thus why i got hurt so badly) but i have definitely denounced the poly lifestyle and i do not advocate or condone it. i'm not sure if it would be different in a purely sexual context or not. again, i also don't know if you're swapping heterosexually or just homosexually.

I was in a poly relationship for 3 years, and it was great right up to the point where the female of the 3 some told the other male that she liked intercourse better with me. (I was younger and bigger.) She was trying to be honest but her felt threatened and that was the end of that. Some good, some bad.
