Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I have no real support from my family and I'm around them allot unfortunately. they don't understand anything about bp and they don't want to. The ppl where I work are indifferent toward me and that's ok I don't look for emotional support from co workers, but still it would be nice. I don't have a tdoc though I have asked for one numerous times and my insurance will pay for it, but my case manager just hasn't set it up even though I've asked her numerous times. I have actually called the crisis line just to have someone to talk to. I come here because it's so nice to be able to interact with ppl like me, it's really the only place I have to talk about how this disease effects me. I've come to appreciated some of the ppl here and their support you can't imagine what it means to me. What are some of the reasons that you come here?

Set the appt with a therapist yourself. Find out who is in the practice, pick a name and make the appointment. That is what I would do.

for a support system and for general socializing. I don't have a lot of friends in real life; just a handful.

for the same reasons as everyone else and also because the people here are more real to me than the ones outside...certainly they care more than the normies

I come here to be with people who understand me, to vent, to be able to discuss symptoms that I can't with my family, and to also talk to people and see what works for others. It allows me to go into my appointments a little better armed. I really need that social outlet here.

I get a lot of good information from this website. It is a good source of encouragement from other beepers when I am low. Bon

I come here to be with people who understand me and I them. For ex. one of my normie friends reacted with apprehension when I told her I was going out of town "did you tell your family", like the lunatic is escaping her grounds. I'm sure that she thinks taking a trip automatically makes me manic. I'm not.

I come here for lots of reasons. I like the support, the shared experiences, the friends, the hugs, the conversation, and more.
