Cause I want it back!
When I was young I had a steady supply of it.
Now it's like I have a creativity block.
If I'm lucky I get a creativity blast that causes me to create all kinds of wonderful artistic things that are fun to make and can be a thing of beauty. But it never lasts long. It always fades in a few days.
Right now I'm sitting at the table looking at paint and drawing a blank. No pun intended.

any one have anything they find inspiring? In an artistic muse kind of sense not talking spiritual here. But I guess that could be inspiring too.
I don't know if I'm depressed but I feel like I"m trying to de- stress from the holidays. My kids finally went back to school so now I finally have some free time. Which means I finally have time to do some creating. But now I have nothing to create.
Free association often helps me past creative blocks. In the case of drawing or painting I will get my stash of scrap paper and start making random marks. Doesn't always work, but it never hurts. Sometimes tracing pictures will shake things loose for me.
Hope you find what works for you. Damned maturity. Makes ya think entirely too much for the creative good. Can add depth, though, if ya can get the flow going.
i hope your block will vanish and the ideas will flow from you!
Some inspiration...perhaps?

Have you read "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain?" You cn check it out from the library. It has excercises that help with that. I am an art teacher and use it all of the time. Esp ones that relate to seeing negative space bc that is uniquely a visual arts skill.
Maybe you could try going to art shows, a play, concert, or something along those lines. Remind yourself why you love the art.
Or spend some time in nature. Nature can be very inspiring.
all of you had some great ideas. Thank you since I find creativity illusive at the moment.
Sigmund2 I will look for that book and get it if I can.
