Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I woke up this morning, kind of in that place between sleep and waking.
I felt alright and my appetite seemed big - and yet I knew I had to keep my diet.
I tried to steady myself for the upcoming struggle for the day to try and keep self disciplined.
My thoughts morphed and I felt out of sync with the world - had some weird thoughts and memories of
things during the previous day.
I just feel like i can manage but I also feel really cut off and sad.
Maybe this is normal. Maybe at times we all feel cut off and then just 'get into' what we need to do
during the day.
I really appreciate being able to 'check in' here during the day.
Is this normal? Do you guys ever feel cut off because of what you experience inside?

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
I hope that you're eating okay Mark.... Having a good breakfast is a good thing!
I admire your willpower though.... I gained too much Seroquel weight and need to go on a diet...sigh
Big squishy hug.... I hope that the day will lighten your load......xo
I think it's somewhat usual. I know that their are days when I feel detached from the real world and kind of stuck in the hamster wheel that is my brain. Times when I have to make a conscious decision to stop and find thoughts that should come instinctively, but they don't because the hamster wheel is spinning too fast and it kind of blocks the normal stuff.
I don't care for days like this......especially if I'm at the office. Its like I'll try to do something, I know what I need to do, but 45 minutes will go by and I'm still sitting in the same spot staring at the same desktop on my Mac because my brain won't process the "open excel" thought that it needs to process.
I just want to go home and get in bed and bury my head under a pillow.
To a degree it's helpful, it reminds us who we are, where we have come from and perhaps indicates / reaffirms our future direction, but sometimes it can become paralysing.
I'm dealing with a workplace that I do not feel I have any peers in.....whereas in other workplaces I felt that connection with others and then it makes me overthink my situation. That's my personal example/reflection...
Food is an issue for me as well I need to make sure I eat right and avoid trying to eat to fill an emotional need....sounds easy right? I have to keep my hunger tamed and in its place....
This is a great place to come for support...(((((hugs)))) Mark none of this is easy!
Do I assume by cut off you mean the opposite of connected?
....a feeling of belonging to or having affinity with a particular person or group.
That sucks if that is happening to you often buddy. I am having trouble feeling like I belong here at DS (low confidence this week just past) so I can empathise with feeling cut off sometimes. I have only just begun to get up the nerve to comment and wish people well again. All the very best!
