Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
This is only one of the many stories I could tell. ...not about pissing myself but just as embarrassing.
As for worth thing done while manic... Hmmm. I'm just going to take sex out of the deal 'cause well I'd need multiple posts for that.
Let's just go with...
When they put me on lithium I took 5 pills a day. I'm pretty sure it was 300 mg or whatever the hell measuring crap that is. I know I was up to 1500 tho and after a year of sluggin' it around the house I decided to take it down a notch. Or three.
So a few weeks into the weening off pill by pill, I made it down to just 600 a day. I became very upset. I think it was the second or third day of only taking two pills that I was crying manically in my dad's room. I stopped. I sniffled.
SQUEAK.
Ugh. My nose. Another sniffle, another SQUEEEAK.
I fkn HATE IT when my nose does ANYTHING other than just fkn breath. This time, with the SQUEAKING when I wasn't even crying anymore, I just snapped. My dad came barging in as a repeatedly punched myself in the face, spraying blood droplets about and utterly soaking his pillow in red snot.
We decided to take me back up to three pills a day.
Now I'm feeling guilty for all the things he saw me through and how little I did in return :(
Super Man
There's never coupons for condoms nor cig's nor wine.
Now, hypomania is a different story...that's much more fun and much less dangerous for me. In fact, I'm a total blast to be around when I'm hypomanic and I LOVE everyone.
I have run away with AWOL solidiers. Assaulted a cop. I feel really bad about that. Bought a timeshare when hypomanic. Learned never, never go to a presentation when remotely hypomanic!!!!!
I did meet my husband while hypomanic. Its been rough at times but we are still together and in love 23 years later.
Recently, while undergoing a med overhaul, I was eating with a church breakfast group--everyone was going dutch. I was sitting next to the priest and could not shut up the whole meal. I had wonderful plans for programs at the church and computer/phone apps, etc, etc. I ended up walking out without leaving a tip or paying. My priest picked up my tab....another topic for confession.
totally embarrassing to say that I've been to jail. You would never believe it by looking at me.
I did.
I got a ride home, no tickets were issued, and left fatter than they arrived on the peanut butter cookies I fed them to shut them up.
Once again, poor dad... I need to figure out a way to work through all this old guilt I have from putting him through a harder time than I was having...
I also have talked my way out of being searched by the law as a teen--carrying about 4 oz weed in my purse and got a ride home in the front seat of the cruiser at 2 a.m. Charmed the cop with my knowledge of the constitution. LOL
And TiredLittleGirl---I also have guilt over what hell I put my dad through. It has taken years to let it go.
