Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
my manias used to start out just Fine, like my prior story about the Jap garden, until I go all delusional and people go "whoa"....
When I was on an extended mission trip, helping translate and work in the clinic, etc, we went to the largest city and got to meet with government officials about what we were doing. I was well-behaved, "normal", etc - until the next day, when I went completely AWOL from the facility, hitch-hiked back to the city and told the officials I was there to Stay, and bring about Change, and PERsonally fund the cleaning up of the contaminated water source in our area...
when I couldn't Possibly afford to do that.
Stuff like that. I'm just Fine - until I'm Not.
why, miss lou?
And the correct diagnosis has now been confirmed by four separate doctors.
It's been trying.
Uh, the sex topic I'm avoiding. lol
manic periods and a mixed episode.
Also, I've messed around with a lot of guys I never would have if I had been stable. I was just up for days and there was nothing to do at night so I would jump from different guys. I didn't sleep with any of them luckily, that could have led to diseases and problems. But I grew up in a Catholic family and went to Catholic schools all my life. My behavior hasn't reflected that when I'm manic.
I've also just drank too much. Too many blackouts that could have been really dangerous for me.
Just overall shitty behavior when I'm manic. I get irrate and angry. I even get violent at times, punching walls and sometimes people in the arm.
But that's just my experience. I like when we all share like this. It helps remind me I'm not the only one who's "screwed-up" or made mistakes because of manic episodes or being bipolar.
