Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
So, I have started riding a bike or walking for 15 minutes and then stretching or lifting weights every other day. I try to swim on the opposite days. It has helped even out my moods too. I am also not too hard on myself when it comes to diet. I am making better choices and have lost 16 lbs in about 3.5 months. I am okay with 1 to 2 lbs a week. This way my body adjusts as I go and allow me to maintain and keep it off. Once I lose it, I never ever want it back.
Just take it slow and set little goals like others have said. Expecting too much will only discourage and unmotivate. Take pride in making it to the end of your driveway if that is what you can do. The more often you move the more motivated you will become. It just doesn't feel right when you don't do it.
you will eventually get to a place where it doesn't suck as bad.
10 minute walks.. 20 minute walks.. 30 minute walks.. 45 minute walks.. 10 minute jogs.. 20 minute jogs.. 5 crunches.. 10 crunches.. etc.. Also, try something slow and easy like yoga.. You can build your way into that.
you don't have to go into full blown work out right away.. you just have to remember that none of it means anything if you don't change your eating habits as well.
You can do it =) it's one of those small steps every day that you take to progressivly make your life better.
