Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Sorry I've been absent.
I've gotten very sick since the surgery. Dunno why. (tmi- medical and gross) I'm throwing up a lot. About every other day? Yea. There's no way I'm pregnant. So. Who knows, lol.
At first I got really depressed and felt super sorry for myself and just kind of sulked and moped about it, but now it's kind of normal even though it's not the greatest normal, lol. This has happened to me several times before, once was an ulcer, the other time we never figured out what it was.
I'm taking Zofran for it. Sooooooooo much Zofran, dear god. Haha. Sometimes it doesn't work though.
Doctors are just kind of blowing it off and I refuse to subject myself to going back to the emergency room, so we're waiting it out.
Other than zofran and a couple other things, I've had to take kind of a puritanical "cut back" approach to medicine. I stopped taking Wellbutrin because it's an antidepressant, so it more than likely inhibits the reuptake of serotonin. 80% or so of serotonin receptors are in the stomach, I believe, so. I kind of figured it might be contributing, even though I'm not sure there's any science behind the assumption.
I cut out Advil and Tylenol too. Advil's a no no for those with bad tummies in general, and I think my liver's fed up with Tylenol. Also I mostly cut out caffeine.
The only super annoying thing about all this is that it's made my relationship with food very abnormal again. I barely eat and I don't want to. I kind of miss the days of me carelessly binge eating anything I fancied. I guess don't take your ability to enjoy food for granted, is what I'm trying to say.
So. Meh. Who knows. Anyway that's why I haven't been around much. I'm a total recluse at the moment and I don't have a lot interesting to say.
I'm going to the mountains to visit family friends next week, though. Family of 4 with two preteen girls and some pets. I feel kind of bad but honestly I'm probably more excited to see the humongous, fuzzy, friendly cat that we babysat for a year. But the scenery's probably gonna be cool, too.
I'm gonna try to make myself better by any means necessary because it'd be weird for me to be a frail, sickly recluse in another family's home. I also turned down an offer to live with a good buddy of mine for this reason.
Also though the girls are young (anyone under 18 and especially under 16 I treat like a 12-year-old, even though I'm only 20, lol) and able-bodied so I don't want to disturb them by being unfriendly and violently sick.
The date keeps getting post-poned, though! Things keep coming up. So Sunday is actually "well hopefully Sunday", lol.
How's the group? I might not reply very quickly, but I'll try to, and I'll definitely read everything so I can get caught up with how everyone around here's doing.

Sorry you are having such problems after surgery. Take it easy and slow and allow all the time needed to properly recuperate.
The trip to the mountains sounds amazing. Even with all the other little details I hope you can use the scenery to relax. I love the mountains!
Check in again when you can! Take care.
I hope the fresh mountain air will help you to heal... Big hug for you..xo
Here's hoping the "hopefully almost" Sunday becomes a "Definitely" Sunday, with lots of relaxation and enjoyment :)
