Since I"m new here I just thought I'd let you all kow how I'm doing and see if you have any advice for me to get back to stability quicker.
I've ben slowly sliding into a depression with all the regular things happening to me. I'm treatment resistant and what was a med that was working, abilify, has stopped working. My psychicatrist has changed that to zyprexa in the hopes that it kick starts my feelings of stability but it's only been about ten days and it hasn't kicked in yet so I don't know where i stand with it. I'm having huge problems with my sleep pattern and never get the straight eight that would make me feel a bit more normal. Instead I sleep for about four hours and then get up and find myself catnapping during the day, which screws up my sleep pattern even more. I'm feeling very low and worthless right now and though I have yet to admit it to my psych doc I'm having some minor suicidal ideation in the back of my mind, I think it's just a bad coping mechanism that I fall into. I feel worthless so I must BE worthless and so on and so forth. You all know what I mean. I'm having major anxiety problems and pace the day away in my apartment and my social anxiety is back with a bang. I find myself stuttering and being very shy about talking as the focus of attention. I get really flustered and find myself searching for the words I want to use. I blame a lot of that on the ECT that I had done years ago. It robbed me of a lot of my memory and has hurt my ability to concentrate to a massive degree.
In the end I guess I would just say I"m feeling really crappy and low and I don't see any escaping it. I suffer from chronic pain and so that causes more mental problems which in turn seem to make the pain worse.
I'm a basket case right now, never knowing which way to turn and feeling alone in my depression and anxiety.
I guess this is a pretty rambling way of saying that I feel like s*** and it just gets worse every day so I hide away and try not to expose myself to public situations where I feel I'll embarrass myself.
I'm not sure what advice I'm looking for but anything will do. I'm just getting squirrely and panicky and I hate it.
Thanks for listening to my rant. I'm not even sure I got all I wanted to say, said, but it will have to do.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I hear you that at times when you lack stability you can feel crappy.
I take Zyprexa too but it has a really good affect for me. Give it a while and if you still don't feel better then it's time to talk to your Doctor about it.
You've done a good thing by venting your feelings here. You're taking a good step at taking care of yourself and that's key.
I hope you can feel better soon.

I take half of my Seroquel when I go to bed and the other half when I wake up in the middle of the night..
I'm often up and down as well and then sleep in late.. I just figure that's what works for me ..
I find a combination of meds and therapy helped me the most.. I needed help with coping skills and needed to change some of my thinking patterns and a cognitive type of therapy helped me a lot
Panicy feelings are horrible.. The only thing that really helped me with that was a benzo
Great big hug of comfort for you...x
Thanks for the replies. I do take clonazepam for my anxiety but it's really not doing a great job right now either. It's just one of those times when things are starting to go downhill and I guess I"ll just have to ride it out.
