The "Day After" Blues

I'll keep this short cuz I don't want to bring anybody else down. I let myself be manipulated into fulfilling a family obligation,and for some reason today I feel really crappy. I didn't do what I wanted to do for Christmas,I basically spent the day with people who say they love me but continue to hurt me.
On the bright side,I am looking forward to New Year's. I wish I could have a few drinks,but with my meds I can't LOL
Hope others' Christmases were happy ones

I've learned I will always feel crappy if I am manipulated into anything so now in therapy through the years I have learned not to give into it when being obviously armed wrestled into doing something I don't want. There are exceptions ofc that there will be things to come up that I don't WANT to do but it is the right thing to do.

I'm working on not saying "YES" to every request made to me. I have a very hard time saying No. And if I have to tell a fib to get out of a meal, get-together, or party, I feel extreme guilt. Lying is not allowed in my weird system of morals.

Oh Loddy, I ended up being manipulated too. It sucks. At least it's only this weekend that I have to deal with. My hubby doesn't like champagne and somehow that translates into not liking New Year's Eve. That's not so bad.

I'm sorry you didn't do what you wanted for Christmas. Don't forget - YOU Are Not Alone. You are special and loved - always. xoxo
