Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I know it's a symptom of bipolar but I can't stop feeling stuck in the past. I'm always so consumed with past memories and mistakes because I think they make me a bad person. I find that I can rarely be present in the moment because I'm always infatuated with the past. I quite literally live in the past. I fixate on my mistakes and then I start to spiral. I know I need to see a therapist but I had one who I didn't really vibe with so I'm now trying to find another one. But I just wondered if anyone else deals with this and how you over come it?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Also it can keep us in a bad place and stop us from moving forward... I would try to be a good friend to yourself and do what can help you and not hurt you
You're talking about automatic negative thinking I think.... Are you seeing a therapist or are you able to have a therapist?
Welcome to the board.... This is a good place to come.... xo
I agree with looking at your meds and re-evaluating them. It can take a lot of experimenting with different ones to get the right balance.
Personally, I'm on 200 mg of Lamictal which doesn't entirely eliminate the depression, just keeps it from being so deep when it does happen.
But I also need Bupropion to keep me up and it does wonders but if I'm not disciplined with it I can get really down before I know it.
I tried Latuda but I don't do well at all with any anti-psychotics and get that restless feeling BIG TIME. It's called "akathesia" and it sucks so bad. Makes me want to crawl out of my own skin just to get relief.
