I go to work early in the morning 530am and then come home
about 10am.
I usually eat a small meal when I get back and then I tend to sit in front of the television or the laptop.
I really want to do something more with my time. In all honesty I think it's a must too. When I have so much downtime to deal with - my feelings are harder to avoid or deal with than it is when I am working.
I have crazy thoughts and moods while working - but the activity of work tends to help them not magnify so much.
I am learning to deal with my feelings in a kind of new way - just accepting them really - - that I live with these highs, lows, and other stuff
and I am noticing how they can 'get' when I am not working..
How do you all structure your time? Do develop projects? Do you have routines? Rituals?
Is unstructured time easy for you? Or does the same kind of magnification
happen when you're not occupied?
Just some thoughts really. Just wanted to spark some conversation.
I am doing alright.
Peace,
M

So I have been having a lot of health issues and my cardiologist felt that he didn't get clear enough images of my heart in the office, so he wanted to do a Trans-esophegeal heart Echocardiocgram in the hospital. I was pretty nervous about it, because I've never had any procedures related to my heart or any other major organs. I've had knee surgery and thyroid surgery, but to me anything to do...

Recently I started a schedule to help me get through this.
I get up, have coffee and watch the news. An hour later I make myself do stuff around the house...you know cleaning, laundry and such.
4 o'clock is my cut off time. Then (and I haven't started this yet)...I can either exercise or read a book for 1/2 hour or an hour, depending how I feel. The rest of the evening is up for grabs...binge watching TV, playing w/Sparky, having dinner. It's my "relax" time.
It's working so far, but then I only work one day a week. You can still have a schedule w/working all week.
Good Luck!!
I sort of miss it...in a way...no, not really. It was too hectic.
One thing, I should exercise I think then my crazy moods will maybe lessen..but I am suborn.. I spend most of my time at the computer sitting...
Did you know I created Adobie Photoshop?!!!
I really can get down when I don't have something to do.
I like the idea of a schedule!
My day is pretty unstructured.
I get up, I shower I make my coffee and read my Bible.
I might go to the grocery or to the pharmacy.
I watch lots of NetFlix. I wish I had a hobby !
I also spend a couple days a week spending time with my daughter.
Finding things to do is hard sometimes.
Looking at screens (ie TV and Laptop and telephone) can seem so compelling and overwhelming!
Work is my structure, but it's currently not working for me cause it's messing up everything else.
I love having a dog which I guess wouldn't be considered a hobby but it gets me up and out everyday... I am an avid reader as well... For years I was always involved in volunteer work but the last few I haven't been (at least not out of the house)... I got a lot from volunteering and was involved with some really interesting things
Injustice/wrongful conviction
An emergency kids shelter
A distress/crisis hotline
