I am having trouble getting to sleep, even if I am very tired. My mind is going to much.

Yes, I've had problems like this for years. Its really frustrating. I don't have an answer, as I've tried everything.

Never had sleeping problems until this year. It's really frustrating. I sleep in 2 or 3 hour jags, too. I've also had a problem with sleeping normally for a day or two then being up the whole night the next night. Forgot to mention it to my Pdoc on Friday. Will have to remember to discuss it with him. Sleep problems...definitely yes. Bedtime meds potentiated by an antihistamine help by giving me about 4 hours sleep before my mind again intrudes. Sometimes I am able to go back to sleep but, for the most part, it seems everything thought of at that magic hour of the night pisses me off, so get up, smoke, ramble around the house & SOMETIMES actually go back to sleep for another hour.

Had to laugh at the Doctor who did a "sleep test" on me. In addition to my regular meds, he gave me 4 sleeping pills to make sure I slept. Guess what, I failed the test...was so psyched up about sleeping in a strange place on the wrong side of the bed, I got no sleep. When I got home, I slept about 4 hours & was ready to go again. He wanted to redo the test & I declined...lol

I have the same issues. Klonopin and trazodone are helping me sleep a bit better.

i also have a hard time sleeping.. im either working on something, or trying to lie in bed. it drives me nuts watching my husband peacefully sleep, while i'm laying there twitching, shifting, and tapping my foot.

oh and forgot mind racing.

I'm using amber filter glasses (www.lowbluelights.com), as per "dark therapy" on www.psycheducation.org. I've used other drugs in the begining (Rozerem, Seroquel), but I think the glasses were the main ingredient. I now sleep in one big chunk, without insomnia in the evening nor morning. I swear on my glasses, and I'm selling the idea to my father and others.

Take Lorazepam and fall asleep after about an hour...if I'm manic it could take 4 hours.

I only sleep about 4 hours then I'm up then go back to sleep and up again. I know the feeling. I take geodin, lamictal and klonopin. Doesn't keep me asleep for very long.

Yes, I do the same thing. I try not to watch t.v. because of the stimulation. I found it only mad me worse. I get up, sit on the couch, without any stimulation and I found I fell back to sleep easier. xx

I've been having problems sleeping too. I just can't seem to fall asleep. My mind is going, going, going. I take all my meds at night for the sleep affect but they don't seem to be working lately. I hate being awake in the middle of the night, it sucks.

I was having sleep problems a few weeks ago because the pharmacy gave me the generic form of trileptal I'm used to and I slept 2 hours a night and woke up.Now that I have my regular meds back I sleep like a baby.

Even with taking Klonopin I have a hard time falling asleep. But once I do I am out for a least eight hours.
