Hm....I take seroquel to sleep. I recommend talking to your doctor about switching it to the nighttime...or maybe splitting your dose to take some at night and then some in the morning...You should definitely clear it with your doctor.

Yea, most people take it at night.

I take 25 in the morning and 100 at night and I am still very drowsy the next morning. Any other suggestions? My doc told me to wait a week or two. Also, I need suggestions on being able to stay awake during the day now. The seraquel is working to curb my mania, but I have to deal with being drowsy all day.

I don't have drowsiness in the morning, but I also don't have many responsibilites so I sleep all the time. I wonder if you could take it all at night?

Even with taking it at night, I have been having problems with it knocking me out all night and the next day. I was a total zombie, but we have been working at making very small adjustments to the dose and I think we might be close.

I agree that you should talk with your doctor about making adjustments to when you take the seroquel. Just the smallest adjustments can make a world of a difference.

Check to see if you can take the entire 125mg at night.

They may either have to take the adjustment down 25 or either separate it to all at night. I have kids in school, and I can't function like this. I am so drowsy I am thinking about taking my afternoon tea. I didn't drink my morning one, because I only want to use it as a last resort. I am part english and LOVE tea time. Don't get me wrong, I just don't want to end up drinking four or five cups a day. I asked myself what was the sense? And I don't want to have to end up drinking that much tea just to stay awake. It would defeat the purpose of taking seraquel which would be to curb my halucinations/delusions. Thanks for the advice I am going to wait a little while like my doc said to do, and if it doesn't work I am going to call back and complain like I always do

I take 300mg of Seroquel at night and it doesn't make me sleepy at all. I think it's different for everyone. Ask your pdoc.

I asked and she told me to wait a week. I guess I will ask again in a week if the symptoms persist. I watch two kids off and on one of them being my own, and I just can't do this when school starts. I will be drowsy until a little bit in the afternoon. Then again, my husband also helps me with the kids in the morning, so that is also a plus.

keep your self moving, 2 hrs. after you take the med have coffee... seroquel peaks at 90 min...I take 100mg in the morning and 200mg at nite.

thanks for the info bizz, I got so tired of being drowsy I took a bath and washed some clothes. I think I may have a cup of tea later when I get cold. I always drink a cup when I am cold.

BipolarPrincess: Consult your doctor about taking the medicine at bedtime. I take 800mg. at night and it KNOCKS me out! I can't see you taking 125 mg. during the day! That would make me so dozey... I wouldn't be able to keep my eyes open.
Even taking it at night... I still have the morning "fuzzies". I have to drink a pot of coffee to get rid of them.
If you doctor prescribes them for nightime use... take them... then, hit the sack! They will make you dizzy and unco-ordinated, within an hour of taking them.

I agree with imagineladyjane...I used to take serequel at night because it made me very sleepy. So if you are taking it during the day, and are extremely sleepy, you need to talk to your doc about changing it to night.
