I have a little situation here that I am not sure how to deal with.
My mental health group offers a lot, including subsidized housing. I was in assisted living and wanted to move into independent living. I had to live in one of their group homes for six months to be educated and evaluated for independent living. I graduated into a step down independent living apartment with a roommate. I was there for a year living with a roommate and some support staff. I graduated from this and was moved into independent subsidized housing. I can live here as long as I want to. The rent is cheap and it is like living on my own. I have a two bedroom townhouse that I share with another lady who has gone through the same thing I have had to to get here.
In the lease it states that there is zero tolerance for drugs on the property.
I hate my roommate, she is always angry, loud and a pest. She wakes me up in the middle of the night to chat. She has walked in on me in the bathroom while I was showering (so much for the lock on the door) and while I was taking a bath. She uses my dishes without asking and does not wash them.
We have only been roommates for three weeks, the first 2 1/2 of which she was in the hospital. She returned to the house on Sunday.
She offered me pot. (not allowed), and I said no. I asked her to smoke it out side. Which she did. She asked me not to tell. I said I wouldn't. On Monday she smoked pot in her room, when I confronted her she said she would never smoke it in the house again if I promised not to tell. I said I wouldn't.
Like I said I hate her. So I told, knowing it would get her kicked out of the unit. So now she is being evicted and has to be out by December 24.
Part of me feels like I did the wrong thing by narking and part of me thinks I did the right thing, because I could get kicked out by not telling, making myself a party to the crime.
Sorry for being so long.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
You have worked long and hard to get to where you are.
She was willing to throw that all away ...do not beat yourself up over someone else's mess up
No reason to jeopardize what you have accomplished because someone else did not want to follow the rules.
You gave her chances and she wouldn't abide by the rules.. She did this to herself... None of this is on you sweetie...xo
She was in the wrong for what she did. She knew the possible consequences yet proceeded to break rules. Now she's paying the price.
You did nothing wrong.
..and then explained how you dealt with the situation.
...so..the " what do you guys think? " at the end..
Invites..I assume...an opinion on how you handled it.
OK..not well.
Not well.
It could have well effected her living situation...If they were both home and someone from the mental health group visited and the house smelled of pot she could be kicked out...Most people don't think pot is a big deal now a days and I agree with that... But organizations make rules and don't often bend them...
Hopefully the room mate will be given other options...If she's unwell I doubt very much she'd end up on the street
For me on top of that someone that was constantly walking in on me in the washroom would freak me out
