I have always been an on again off again but I for the most part like smoking...sick I know.
But with the scare and problem with my lung I figured I should quit...
It sucks
I cut back slowly on my smoking to where I was just smoking 2 cigarettes a day. After I finished that last pack I quit, but I did use the patch for about 3 weeks. I guess I was ready because I didn't have much trouble quitting.
I quit because I had asthma as a child and smoking induced asthma later. I didn't want to die of COPD or cancer. That's how I keep off the cigarettes, by telling myself I quit for my health.
Good luck with quitting. Hope you can do it, your Mom too.
