Phone Buddies......

Bobbi came up with the idea of this phone buddies thing where you give your personal info to two or three DS members and they can help you when you're in that deep dark place. I currently only have one, and would like to share my info with a few more people. Anyone else use skype? I will share my skype info with two others as long as you're female. I am afraid of sharing my info with males....sorry....no offense to you guys.....but my paranoia runs rampant today and YES I have taken my meds! So anyone else wanna be my phone buddy???

scared to death of using skype? All you have to do is download skype and create a user name.....no phone number is involved.....

Phone Buddies are a great Idea a lot of ppl here use them I hope it works out well for you :-)

I have absolutely nothing against "phone buddies" and maybe I am just daft, but I dont understand how it is suppose to work for someone contemplating suicide.

Is that what we do it for?

If I am suicidal, I dont and wont tell anyone, if I would, it would be my husband. Doesnt that make sense?

I know some people need friends they can trust to call. If we are talking actual, "I am going to do it, or I took pills" how does having a phone buddy work if they are not online?

Sorry, I am just trying to work it out in my head.

The phone buddy concept is often for suicide prevention but sometimes just when you need someone to talk to who understands. Often ppl post crisis situations here at DS as cries for help As a CL I have delt with quite a few. Having a phone number is the fastest way to get help to someone who is in need.

Sometimes just the support we all show each other here at DS is enough to help ppl but the phone buddy idea can have many benefits. But like with all tools they only work if you use them.

Thank you so much 666 for clarifying. I think I was confused because of all the talk about "suicide" posting and what to do about it. It makes more sense to me now.

Firefly, sorry, I was only being specific to myself. I guess others would tell close loved ones.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
