Hi my name is Tim and I have been here so long on DS i dont think I ever introduced myself.
I was DX'd 10 years ago when I realized I was not a GOD, and in the US Army. They thought I was a little too gung-ho so they asked me to retire early and get paid to do nothing. It was not as easy as it sounds.
I rapid cycle daily and have a host of other genetic and age related problems but I love dogs and dong stuff outdoors.
I hope to make a lot of friends here for support and to share information with. Everyone says this is a great site.

I'm Christa, and have been here for awhile too. I have BP1. My docs tell me that I am the worst case of BP they have seen in their careers. From that statement, I am assuming they are saying there is not much hope for me. Despite their views, I refuse to give up and hope to return to graduate school next year.
I have met many great people here, and hope to meet many more. If you wish to be friends that would be great!

I love dogs also,am BPI,very difficult to medicate,haven't had much luck with a lot of meds.But finally Depakote and some Klonopin seem to keep me mostly in check.

My name is Harriet, and I've been on DS for about 14 months. I was dx'd in 1996 with BP-1, and have had two MAJOR episodes, with long-term hospitalizations since then; and tons and tons of short stays on the psych wards- the most recent being in November.
I live in PA, although my heart is in Oregon, and I am a phd student studying sociology. I am in my 3rd year of studies, and hope to be done in 4 more years, but who knows how much longer it will take me. I have a hard time staying stable, even with meds, and my hypomanias and mixed episodes get in the way of my studies. I am lucky to have a good support system.
I am married, and although I don't do much besides study and write, I am learning how to play the guitar, and I enjoy collecting rare live recordings of my fav musicians.
