I've got a pdoc appointment Thursday. I didn't like the side effects of Risperdal, which I've been on for about a month. I don't knew what I'm going to get on, but I can feel that I need something.
Anyone know of a good med that has no sexual side effects and doesn't cause weight gain?

i had the same problem with risperdal last week. stopped taking it. gained at least 7lbs in one week if not more (mostly gone now). I told pdoc i had been on it before and that if i gained a lb i would stop it! I dont think she was listening to me really but her defence it was our first time meeting. Topamax is one that does not cause weight gain and works very well with prozac which also causes weight loss.neither cause sexual dysfunction. good luck with it, all . hugs.

I don't know about sexual side effects?..... I found Lamictal to be a good and weight neutral med for me though

I think most APs sadly cause weight gain. I’m up to 70lbs Gaines on Zyprexa but my mood seems stabilized enough. Weight gain sucks

I've been on Rexulti for several months and overall, I like it. It doesnt cause much weight gain and I've had no sexual side effects. I also like that its activating so no extreme drowsiness, although if you have trouble sleeping it might not be the best choice.

so are you male or female? Makes a difference if you are asking about sexual function and meds

I'm a male. I also am not the greatest patient about taking my meds, so for me...less is more. She prescribed Lamictal for me now we'll have to see how that does.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
