He does this a lot. I try to avoid him as much as possible, but sometimes I have no other choice but to rely on him. I would cut him out of my life, but he is too much a part of my family to ever avoid him completely. The funny thing is, he's a really nice person. He doesn't mean to stress everyone out. He's like a really annoying child in many ways. he nonetheless triggers my depression like no other person I have ever met. Once I am done being depressed and mad at him, I may need to consider having a conversation with him about this. At the moment I am to messed up to make an important descision.
Just needed to get that off my chest. I have to thank the people of this forum for being there whenever I need to vent. This is the most supportive place on the internet I have ever come accross by a long shot. Thank you so much! ♥♥♥

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

So have that conversation with your dad and tell him what you need from him.
Oddly enough OUR life changes are hard on our parents. It causes them to become retrospective and maybe even have that mid-life moment (or moments). I'm not sure what might be triggering your father (stresses or changes in his life or yours) but it sounds like a good therapist would be a great asset to your relationship with him. Either together (similar to couples therapy) or simply go for yourself and encourage him to seek out his own.
Praying for you. I'm awfully proud of how you are handling this. Continue to love and give him grace but definitely set boundaries and hold him accountable. You don't need him turning into a toxic person in your life.
My son triggers me but I love him so I don't want him out of my life. Hugs.
My oldest son can be very, shall we say difficult. In many ways we are alike, but in many ways he is just like his father, (my ex-husband) mostly the bad ways. He always has to have the last word, he thinks he knows everything at the ripe old age of 30, he loves to argue and he hates to take responsibility on the important things. He's also good at not accepting responsibility.
Are these things capable of setting off my BiPolar symptoms? Sure they are. Do they? No, not often...why? Because I have 2 feet and I can walk away and not listen to him or let him aggravate me. I also have a home and can either ask him to leave or leave where I"m at and go to my home.
There's nothing wrong with taking a break from family or friends instead of letting them trigger you....if I hung around every time one of my people triggered my....stability would not be in my vocabulary.
