What kind of material is it?

is it a flat piece of paper larger than the book?

Remember the book covers we used to make back in school out of paper sacks?

does it have any dotted lines on it that you can follow the folds on?

It is an apple jacks fall '09 book cover that I'm sure I've ruined by now. It is biger than the book, and it's flat. I thought that I would cut the center near the spine to get it to go around the damn book, but I guess that failed miserably. I've ripped it three times and taped the ripped spots, and still the damn cover is not on. It's frustrating me to no end. I don't want to be ashamed and tell her teacher that I can't put one on. But, when I had to put one on when I went to school, I couldn't put one on for the life of me as a child either. I can't put on damn covers. I got an F trying to learn to put one on in school, and I guess I am just going to relive that F again. =(

I do, but I have no paper sacks and I can't get this damn thing on. I never have been able to put one on. I got an F when they tried to help me learn....

ok..from what i remember you have to cover it with the book closed otherwise if you try to cover it when it's opened and then close it, that's when it rips....

ohhh s**t...i haven't done this in years..let me see if i can find something in my house to improvise and walk you through the steps....

OK. Here goes.... Lay the book cover out flat with the book centered on top of the cover. Put a mark at the top and bottom of the book (to show how big the book is on the cover). Remove the book and fold the top of the cover down at the top mark and the bottom of the cover up at the bottom mark. (Make the fold at the mark, crease all the way across the cover) Lay the opened book back onto the cover and it will have two ends sticking out....one on the left and one on the right. Fold the two sleeves back toward the book and slide each hard cover of the book into a folded sleeve.
I hope this helps because it sounds confusing to me too and I know how to do it.

OK...i found some tissue paper and covered one of the books in the house...this is how i did it....

i sure hope this works....

1. lay the cover down on the floor and fold down the long edges to match the heighth of the book

2. then put the book in the center to make sure you didn't fold down too much...

3. with the book sitting on top of the inside of the cover where the folded edges now lie you open it up in the middle of the cover

4. take a sleeve from either side that has been made and gently stick one of the cover's of the books in side of it

5. keeping the book as closed as you can do this with the other side...

that's how i did it...sorry for the directions...i hope this helps...
