Memory loss anyone?

I have been struggling with short term memory loss. It's getting frightening & I'm afraid that soon it will be dangerous. I've been on Lamictal for 7 years & so I'm wondering if that's the reason. I've never had this problem before & the Lamictal has worked very well for me. I also just got tapered off my antipsychotic. I'm so confused & so I'm asking if anyone has or has had this problem. Or if anyone knows how it all connects. Any comment, advice, facts will be greatly appreciated :)

Examples of my memory loss: immediately forgetting what I said; don't remember how I got home; insisting that I didn't do or say something even when ppl say I did it; can't remember conversations; can't even remember that I read a page of any book by the time I turn the page. I constantly ask myself How did I get here, I don't remember passing the intersection or the store where I would always get my coffee in the morning.

I know meds can cause memory loss but I think also that depression itself can cause memory loss. My son has it too.

I have short term memory loss too - it feels like mini -black outs.
I take Olanzapine. I don't know if that's the cause or if it happens to me because I am at work which is usually very early in the morning at work 530am roughly. That's the only time it happens really - I think.

I've had similar issues since I've been in meds too. Both memory loss and having words in the tip of my tongue and not being able to come up with them. I know it's the meds, but I'd rather have some kind of minor side effects like that, instead of being unstable.

Your definately not alone. Damn I feel like I'm getting oldheimers my self. My short term memory is not so good at times. It can be frustrating. Idk I think it's the meds or the depression it self but I rather deal with it than not feel well. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Hugs
