Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I'd make it free
where all could be whatever
bright light they see
and if all felt this freedom
there would be no hate
I place this before you
upon the same plate
the Baptist's head relished
the martyr of fate
poor souls all embellished
with sadness and hate
this was your design
so much different than mine
and it troubles my mind
how you think it's all fine
Bent and Broken, I am Sane
Both mind and body
bent and broken,
put together wrong.
Both mind and body
crazy and psychotic,
told by others this is wrong.
If this is so,
why do I see you as you really are?
If this is so,
why am I not two-faced like you are?
If this is so,
why I am happy inside and out,
while you are broken and crying inside with a false face plastered on?
Does my bent and broken
mind and body
actually make me saner than you?
Does my crazy and psychotic
mind and body
allow me to be true to myself, to let me be me
while you, who is deemed normal, are held captive by the views of others?
Others,
not me,
have bent and broken
minds and bodies.
Others, not me,
have crazed, psychotic
minds and bodies.
I lie not to hurt others,
but to protect them.
You like to hurt others
and to protect yourself.
My view of the world
makes me see reality,
your view of reality comes from the world
you created for yourself.
Because I am not normal,
because I am not like others surrounding me,
I am free,
free to be who I want to be,
free of worry about what others think.
Because you work so hard to be normal,
because you strive to be like those surrounding you,
you miss out on your life,
on who you could be.
You are chained into a carbon copy of someone else
with no hope for escape.
So,
who is really sane here?
Who is really free?
Me with a bent and broken
mind and body?
Or youwith your twisted,
unrealistic view of normalcy?

Dying Inside
Dying inside
no one to see
the damage
that has
been done
to my soul.

Twilight to Twilight
Twilight comes
creeping up
silent like
you never
heard before.
It comes to
steal,
pillage,
plunder,
your last
remain speck
of hope and joy
your dreams
dying
with every second
twilight steals
from the burning bulb.
Darkness reins,
crashing in
muffling your
nightmares,
dreams,
while you lie
so stupidly there
innocent like
a newborn
yet the scares
you so
desperately hide
tell another
tale of
hatred
lust
envy
jealousy
insanity
embarrassment.
As the twinges
of dawn
stabs your
pale, still figure
your body
twists
making you
think one thing,
in reality,
it is reluctance
to give up
its coma
of deceiving
peace.
Alas!
the bright
burning bulb
breaks free
from darknesss
chain of gloom
warming your
soul to think
of hope and joy
Soon though
twilight will
creep
once again
silent like
you never have
heard before.

A Daughter to Her Mother
You call me a child, but I am no longer one,
you say you understand what I go through
but how can you? - You are not me,
You do not think, feel as I do.
You say I am unprepared,
that the world is nothing like I think it is.
I have been through so much more than you can imagine,
I know it is unforgiving, cruel and unkind,
but I also know the promises that are offered in the world.
I want you to see me for who I really am,
someone prepared to deal with the world.
if you just listen, if you just look,
you can see how much I have grown up when you weren't looking.
Let me go now, you have taught me well,
now I have to stand by myself,
I have to learn the rest on my own.
I know I'll try my hardest and do my best.
I know you will be surprised at what you see,
I know you will be proud of me and what I can do.
But I'm not sure the way
In which I should convey
The thing I've got to say
It's of utmost importance
Like a song from a porpoise
Like an omen of portence
Your mother was Doris
I know this from genius
That comes from my penis
Which has so many uses
And dances most stringless
This thing I relate
Is to end the world's hate
And put to bed fate
In a vaginal crate
This thing I must say
Will divide night from day
And to me you will pray
For the thing I shall say
This thing is of upmost
Importance and is gross
A waste of my pathos
It comes from the cosmos
It comes from your dreams
And your impotent schemes
You jump and you scream
To know what I mean
And this thing I relate
To your eloquent plate
Well hell I'll be damned
I forgot it, oh man
There once was a group called DS
Whose members were often a mess!
They'd rage and they'd cry
Shake their fist at the sky!!
Then laugh, in spite of the stress!!!
They don't always take all their meds
And then sometimes take to their beds
But other times, my!!!
They just fly so high!!
And start the funniest threads!!!
They sometimes do the worst things!!
Hit the bars, and have lots of flings!!
Oh, the picture they make!
It just makes one quake
To think of the trouble it brings!!
And sometimes they just feel so blue
That nothing, no nothing will do.
Pain cuts like a knife
There's no hope in life
The options are dreadful and few.
The goal is always stability
To regain and improve one's ability
The work is so hard,
The psyche so marred
That some only find disability.
But other ones do very well!!!
They try, they strive, they excel!!!
Their burdens grow lighter
Each one is a fighter.
Who refuses to live in a Hell!
They're mostly a wonderful crew!
Always offering all they can do!!
The support that they feel
Helps sore hearts to heal
And calms the troubled minds, too.
It's wonderful to be with your peers,
Those who get your sadness and tears
Those who come when your down
Help to turn things around,
Till laughter and joy reappears!
We shore up the ones when they're weak
Be their voice if and when they can't speak,
We know that ere long
Tis they who'll be strong,
Helping us when it's our world that's bleak.
Birdie, Birdie in the sky
Why'd you pootie in my eye?
I really do write real poetry...but just needed something to make me smile.
I'm a poet and don't even know it but my feet show it cuz they're Longfellows!
So somehow sympathy does sometimes come through
A missing limb is something that's hard not to be missed
But generally you'd let them get there things of their chest until bliss
The hardest battle they really face is a mind game or two
An ugly black dog it's been called by a few
Yet it sometimes understandable. I mean you can understand their fate
Bad luck, bad day or moments to late
Yet sometimes things happen to people that makes you think it's just them
They have strange ideas. hear voices or try to fly on a hem
but there not always sicks and some do quite well
Even though some days they go through their own hell
But somehow the label sticks long after a a bad day has gone
It sticks in the head like a really bad song
Even when when they do quite well that person's a loon
It really is a horrible tune
With mental illness there is no visible scar
No battle wounds to show in a bar
Yet the pain goes on some days years at a time
and some days it doesn't get better like a fine vintage wine
Some get afraid of themself and the people around
Some are fighting a battle with invisible sights and sounds
some are unsure of there actions and mistakes can be had
It's not always easy when you thing all is bad
It's all ways so easy to give them wide birth
some of the meds can really give girth
It can take a bit longer for some to say g'day
but something like friendship can make anyones day
like soap on a rope
still trying to recover
from losing my mother
it gets better, I hear them say
but living for tomorrow
there has to be a better way
I said the wrong thing at the dr.'s office
now I feel like my life will end like Hoffa's
seeking help from naturopath's
they say they can help you and we only take cash
they'll tell you they'll try as best they can
they've been really busy you can tell by the tan
if they're not sure they can help
they'll tell you they can
but the room grows silent when you ask of their plan
they're not all the same and I can vouch for that
but if I wanted attitude
I would be better off with a cat
(I really would!) And no disrespect to cats either...it just worked well.
I stay awake though I know I should sleep.
I smoke too much and never exercise.
I know I am my own worst enemy, so I take a drag.
I feel my eyes grow heavy, so I take another drink.
The coffee doesn't work as it should, but just enough.
20 years of swilling it like water takes the zip.
Ants know
When they have
Stumbled upon
Mountain or molehill?
Or do they focus on
Only one grain of fine sand
At a time-knowing their limits-
And faithfully carrying their burdens;
Leaving the outcome to Him Who made them?

BOY, INTERRUPTED: My Magical Misery Tour
For all the people who protest,
We protect you & you are protected by the best,
Leaving all that we own,
To ensure your future is carved in stone,
We are the ones who fight & die,
Maybe we don't save the world but at least we try,
In order for our flags to fly,
Young men & women must die,
So stop yelling & put down your signs,
And help support us behind enemy lines,
When the conflict is over & all is well,
Be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
I applaud you. too cool.. i counted each line just to make sure.. awesome
next do the fibonacci sequence.. if you dare.
