we only long to be
in so far as WE are
the LIGHT seems to far to see
well, I say
the kingdom come is now in the process
of lessening the space that divides US...
Caz---1983
Sometimes I see myself as a field.
Fallow'd, flawed,
Haunted, and still...
Barren, but for the black birds to pick out
My eyes.
On my knees, talking to the worms.
This field, this fallow, this soul...
Smoke,
Carried heavenward, on
December's settled scorn.
Very powerful stuff my friend.
Why do I do this to myself? I search for imperfection
Each and every day, Seas of life behind the smiles
Searching for signs, thats beyond my grasp
Am I really growing? Am I really healing?
Try to clasp but the oversight is the same, I loathe myself each time;
Death follows or its the same, such remoteness
We are the same, lost cores each found
I know this is wrong, something has to give
Just hows this going to end? Or will it remain?
Tomorrow is a new day, I know how it begins
Its always been the same, my psyche wont let up
Tried to run, But I had to know
Regret it now, As I all ready recognized it
So is this a mistake? Is this reality?
What happens now? I know the destinations
Separation at one point in time...
It happens all over again
Shadows of you still echo through my head, a hesitation when I speak to anther of your sex
I like what I see, I know how it goes, confusion so profound so I let it pass
I look back on my past and all I see is Im not capable of a relationship
Days flow to the next, Weeks turn to months
Summer Autumn Winter Spring and it happens all over again
All the events in my life lead to now
Why you took your life I will never know
Been over a year and still today I feel I had a part
Just to say the wrong thing wrong time wrong place an action a glance my mind still plays
I need to know why; I need to know you have found peace
Days flow to the next, Weeks turn to months
Summer Autumn Winter Spring and it happens all over again
Still I battle on, fighting the same that you succumbed
Unsure if to join you to continue where we left off
To find the Answers I seek or just losing the will to fight anymore
Days flow to the next, Weeks turn to months
Summer Autumn Winter Spring and it happens all over again
Time heals all wounds or so they say
As I find my place by losing my way
I always felt so lost so helpless so confused
Then you came back into my life
It was something I never had when I was with you
Im just sorry it wasnt the same for you with me
Rest in peace
Days flow to the next, Weeks turn to months
Summer Autumn Winter Spring and it happens all over again
It happens all over again
This was just getting good!
I release my breath, watching the smoke billow around me.
My long, yellowing finger tips- a reminder of the
Compacted sticks that sour my soul.
Each inhale rewards an exhale of relief.
The tip slowly burns away to ashes by my side.
I watch as that little tip of molten lava
Seeps into my pores as it
Reaches further to my face.
All sounds fade away-
The chemicals dance in the air,
The carcinogens that corrupt my lungs.
I drop it, stomp it out and wait until my next fix.
I lay in my bed at 137 Dolphin Dr.
I yawn enveloped in
The cloud like pillows and,
Rich, warm blankets.
I smiled, full of joy,
To be alive for another day.
No one was awake yet and I had to be
Quiet as ever.
I looked up at the pattern on my ceiling,
As I did most sunny summer mornings.
The blue waves of my ten-feet-deep swimming pool
Dance and swirl above my little head.
The waves of light danced like little Fae.
My best friends mother told me about them.
Those little rays of light you see, those are fairies.
She told me of the different types, and what they did.
But I cannot recall now, the names or places,
Where the little magical creatures
Worked and played.
Those little fairies on my ceiling,
Told me to go out,
And jump in my ten-feet-deep swimming pool.
Neither my sister nor mother were awake yet,
So I could not go swimming.
Though I wanted very much to jump
And dive. Until all that was left of me was a wrinkly
Little prune.
I yawned again, still lying in bed,
Waiting for the sounds of footsteps,
And the smell of strongly brewed coffee.
Her Final Act
He whispers softly
in her tender ear
words of love,
words of deceit
he whispers what
she wants to hear
knowing that his
heart is far away
not near hers
knowing that her
fragile,
badly bruised heart
loves him for
all that he is not worth.
When he leaves
as he had always
planned on doing,
she cries out in pain
longing for his
tender touch,
the lies that once
stood between
them and the truth
because that is all
she knows
and all she wants
to know in her life.
She takes the razor
to her scarred and
battered arm,
places it on the
frail skin and slowly
draws a horizontal line
just for him,
it was always just for him.
The blood flows quickly
and she panics
knowing what she has done
but is too helpless,
too weakened by the
tears of blood
to stop what is
and what will be
her final act.
