i cant even speak right now i am so angry and distraught.
my mum has just come home for the first time in about 3 months.
she knows i am ill again.
she sat me down and told me she had to speak to me
about a year ago when i saw a pdoc because of depression/anxiety etc.
she told me that when she had a private conversation with the doctor without me present ( i didnt get that at the time)
the doctor told her i have borderline personality disorder.
my mum told the dr not to tell me. because she thinks its not an illness.
just me being a brat.
ive been lied to.
denied help.
all because my mum doesnt believe this illness is valid.
i am absolutely. beyond words right now.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

i dont agree with any diagnosis i dont want to do this anymore.
my god honey, you have been toughing it out lately. I'm so sorry that your mom is doing this, but you know what is right for you sweetie. There are times we need to only focus on ourselves and leave out all the rest.
I'm sorry you are going thru this on your own, but keep going hun, you will find the right diagnosis (and I know, any diagnosis sucks) but once you have one and get treated, the better you'll be.
You are strong, a fighter- from what I've seen lately...you will get thru this....keep drawing on your strength.
i hate to say this mush, but being an adult it's time to cut your mother from anything even remotely having to do w/ your mental health and doctors and meds etc.
and i think your doctor is equally unethical, and being quite litigious yourself, i would seriously consider actions in the future. not suing, but i would file a report, to get it on record.
sorry mush. (((HUGE hugs)))
My father's side of the family doesn't get it either. They don't believe in mental illness they think I should just snap out of it.
Besides how is hallucinating being a brat? Maybe your mom needs to see a doctor to get her head examined.
I am devastated by her actions
When you say doctor - is that the Gp or the psychiatrist?
I think as in solving this we keep coming back to you moving somewhere else and getting another psychiatrist.
One thing to think about is what you might think of as a defense around why you are not borderline and that relates to friendships and relationships. If you want to ask me more about that just send me a PM or if you have any borderline friends ask them about that.
I'm no expert but to me that is one of the most obvious ways of distinguishing BP from borderline.
The thing that has most shocked me is the drs unethical decision to adhere to her "advice".
I was 18 at this point my mum didn't need a private discussion.
Curious I see your points thanks for posting I was hoping you'd see it as you had predicted this was the case a while ago and I was under the impression I would have been told. You were right.
Anyway I guess it doesn't matter I am like this regardless of a label I am just dreading my appointment with a psychiatrist next week.
I will try to see if my cpn can come with me she knows how I am
I will be able to either disprove or prove the bpd thing when I look into
Symptoms etc. I am afraid to look online and self diagnose, I'm on the bipolar board because a nurse once told me I was blatantly bipolar since then I've been searching for help because I then did research and saw myself. It's been incredibly hard. Thanks for all the support guys
May I ask why you don't believe this particular label though?
I don't believe this diagnosis because I've known myself for 18 years.
It's wrong.
And p.s if you'd be happy for this to happen to you then let me know how it feels afterwards.
