Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I just wonder if others struggle with this as well.
I see a kind of similar post previously on 'how you find peace.'
I went out for lunch today and was so 'jazzed' from the good time I had
and from what we talked about - but I realized from our conversation that the reason I find my isolating is so much about
my feeling depressed - when in fact I'd rather be around friends or family...but I can't do that
all the time.
I am home now and I find myself really trying to keep myself satisfied from what I do around the house
but it's rough going and I am feeling myself dragging down into an amorphous blackness.
I feel hesitant to do it - but I think I really should adopt a cat. Just having some one - another sentient
being - in the house would really keep me even or steady. I kind of flinch from the commitment, cost
and responsibility but I think I should bite the bullet.
But getting back to the point, I have for much of my life struggled to satisfy myself - whether it was with
my art or the writing I have done. I have gotten praise for it - but then for me to stand by it - is something
I have struggled with. Now just keeping busy around the house isn't enough - but I look forward to tomorrow.
I called my parents and I'll be taking them out for coffee which will be nice.
peace out, amen and hail mary. :)

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo
Peace out, amen and hail mary, indeed.
I totally get it. You're right, it does have something to do with finding peace. For me I've noticed some days it's just easier to find contentment and happiness in the mundane. Some days the demons are too loud to find contentment in anything no matter how exciting or satisfying it is, or at the very least it's short lived on those days. The amorphous blackness pulls us in sometimes and theres little we can do to stop it. I think therapy would help, coping skills. I've never gotten therapy because of different issues with cost and time, but I tend to think not having therapy has left a huge void in my treatment. I'm curious if you've done/still do therapy and if its beneficial to you on the bad days?
I say go for the cat. I'm often sullen and love kitties. Hence the name. It also has to do with Fiona Apple's album Tidal which I still love. Theres a song on it called Sullen Girl. But anyways, I have 1 cat and am getting 2 kittens in a week, i'm sort of a crazy cat lady by definition. I'm not too into dogs, too needy and messy, but cats truly do give me contentment and joy. Theres nothing like a soft, warm, whiskered purr machine to calm you down. Not everyone is that into cats, so maybe if you're not really a cat person it would create more stress than anything, but I think they're wonderful creatures.
We all deserve peace, but I know sometimes its very hard to attain and it can be overwhelming and scary to be so unfulfilled and unhappy all the time. Or even if it's a fleeting feeling of the blackness, it's so dark its terrifying. Know that someone else is struggling with you. Hugs.

I'm past the phase of life where I needed anything busy and bustling. I live a very simple life these days and am very content in doing so. The more simple I make life the easier it is to be at peace.
I was talking to a friend and told me about her deep desire to have peace. She would buy it if it's available in the store :-)
Stress from her work and family was pushing her down. Getting up in the morning was also a struggle. I told her to read inspirational messages and listen to worship songs to relax her mind and it worked for her.
I pray that peace will surround you as you go through life. God bless and take care.
If I have my books and computer and I do visit with my good friend and landlord a few times a week.....
I get out for walks with Rascal and he's a constant wonderful companion
I have tried to let go of what was and try to accept as much as possible that I'm in a different place now..... Big hug......xo
