my husband supports me- i wouldn't be financially stable on my own.

That is the one thing my husband and I have going for us. We don't have a lot of money. We have some debt, but we have enough money to pay our rent, buy food, and keep clothes on our backs. We've been OK since I went out on medical leave, but we don't have as much disposable income and it's likely that it will put off our dream of buying a home.

I had a great career and lost it due to mental illness. As a result I lost my house. I am now on Australia's Disability Support Pension which is under the Poverty Line. The only reason I survive is that I am plwing through my savings and have use tens of thousands of that in the last three years. If things don't change the money will all go down the drain. I try, unsuccessfully, not to worry about the future in terms finances.

Threads like this really help me because I feel so alone about all this.

well, my credit is great, but i have no money and am being supported by my sister....might be ok if i wasn't 50!

In the grand scheme of things I am rock solid but I have credit card debt from having to take a lot of flights and spend an extended amount of time in the UK due to a lot of family deaths all at once. I also don't have a pension which worries me but I do have good life insurance so if I pop off before I retire things will be good for the ex husband!

I'm very unstable... Was a lot more stable when I was married and had my (other half) to keep me in line and deal with a lot of the mundane things I couldn't handle.

oddly enough, now that I am on SSI, I consider myself financially stable; until then, I never knew how long my job would last, and always knew that ultimately, it would fall through. I especially realized that, when I finally got a job I really liked, and was not able to keep that one, either. Since then, it's been a downward slide....until I finally couldn't work any more at all. But now I have the stability I need, to do the work I need to rebuild myself. Here's hoping.....

im quite stable with savings investments ectr but over the past 1-2 yrs my earning ability has droped due to issues with my mh not being wat it should be at times i dont feel able to do the things i do to earn

what i have coming in is enough to live on if I am sensible but it is not enough to pay the thousands of pounds of debt which I am in a lot of trouble with.... trying to get it sorted.

up shit creak as per usual...i was doing ok about 10 yrs ago.
now i have no money , cant get credit and im in debt..

I was financially doing quite well until my diagnosis with Breast Cancer. So many people don't understand how devastating financially it is to have a major illness.

I have had to cash in a IRA and if this continues will have to cash in my 401K and end up paying huge penalties.

So much for doing all I was told to as far as saving money for my retirement.
