HELP. i want to say o ok well then let me know if you want to hang out... i feel like i dont know you that well is all.... but now im overthinking and the fact that ive been overthinking makes me self conscious of what im saying thinking hes gonna think im weird! why cant he say, what are you doing tomorrow night? or SOMETHING why do i have to initiate it?

hmm. Grenadine, all joking aside, it does sound like there are a few deeper things going on. One is that if he's had all this fantasizing about you, it may make him really anxious about asking you out. Both of you want to make a move, but can't. That is not a deal-breaker, just an obstacle.

And you were his support during a serious loss of his, so he may be extra attached to you, as well as afraid of ruining a friendship because of sex and because, well, he's a Hooter Boy. Seriously, though- the friends attraction thing is always sticky. Don't give up on dating, maybe just work on your anxiety issues. That stuff is really common. It's a defense mechanism. I had it in spades, still do.

And perhaps you are very conflicted about him as well, especially if you care for him- you may want to contemplate what you mean when you say 'care for him'. In what way? As a friend? A potential lover? A wounded person that you feel you need to support? Would he be supportive of you as well, or is he a taker who thinks you're pretty? There's stuff beneath the surface we can't resolve in a thread, but you know where I'm going with this.

I would say give this some time and room to breathe because the both of you are vulnerable.
