Is it acceptable for a decent man to go to Hooters with his friends to watch a football game? This guy asked me out on a date. We talked about making other plans to see each other. I haven't seen him in years. He told me he's had a crush on me since high school and lately he dreams about me. So, I thought that was sweet, I said sure. But then one day I texted him and I haven't heard from him since... that was two days ago. Maybe he never saw it. That happened before. But I saw on his facebook wall his friend posted...."Tits, ass, wings, and football with D****** and 2 others, and he 'liked' it and said Gooo pats! I was grossed out! Maybe he's not the kind of guy I want to be dating. Or maybe all guys do this and I'm just being too stuck up.

Help me out, do all men go to Hooters?

no too... my ex believed anything like that demeaned women.. and it would certainly have been an issue if he didn't think that way

wow, really? thank you.. i didnt know there was actual"entertainment". i thought it was just a restaurant with waitresses as provocative women wearing skanky clothing.... so it's basically like a strip club with waitresses serving food?

thanks, i guess i have to accept it... though i'm desperate and i feel like settling... but i am out of his league.. hes handsome.. but just not quite up to par. sigh.... i guess i just want some male attention. I guess I'll just have to wait for Mr. Right.

Just glad that you were able to make that decision, grenadine. I haven't actually ever known anyone (that I know of) who has gone to Hooters. I think that men who go there are pigs. You don't hear people raving about the quality beer or food that comes from there. It's just like richard said, close to prostitution.

I wouldn't trust a man who thinks it's awesome to go out and stare at young women breasts for fun. It's beyond demeaning, and IF ONLY the women who work there could get that through their heads, maybe this might be a better place.

I've been to Hooters with many people including Wasband.... its silly novelty, good wings - the French Cancan dances, or belly dancing - not all bad, or demeaning.....

LOL, I can't wait to see that movie with the men strippers too! LOL it is just a novelty in my eyes : )

Hooters doesn't bother me, the remark on face book would be an issues, for me anyway : )

I have no problem with Hooters or decent strip joints - as far as being demeaning to women I dont happen to agree that it is as long as its run on the up and up waitresses or dancers (if we are talking strip club) arent drugged up and no prostituion

I would think of the facebook comment as "Immature" - it would bother me...

Now would it be a deal breaker - probably not. If I liked him - the facebook comment would have brought him to, zero or the middle of my choice making process : )

So I would add or minus his other stuff - to decide if I wanted to go out with him....

wow richard, i am officially grossed out. him going to hooters ruined everything.

however ginawonders.. he did not write that comment. his friend did and tagged his name in it.

maybe he doesnt go there a lot... maybe it was his friends influence, or maybe NOT

i dont know him very well, he seems sweet, but i guess this is just a no go because of the hooters

My numbers of guys to date are low - being older and a smoker.... if I liked a guy, and tossed him out for going to Hooters - OMG...

I'm not finding guys now, without being so judgmental....

That he didn't say that - I'd at least give him one date...... or are you so busy, one evening out would be ...... bad?

I was a dancer for 21 years and yes this is said proudly not all dancers are sleazy and neither are all that frequent strip clubs or hooters

Ya i dont think of it as a big deal at all, specially since he went there to watch the football game. I look at it as a restaurant with hot waitresses, nothing more.
Not a deal breaker thats for sure.

I'm a woman, but I have male friends who as far as I know, would not be caught dead there. The question is, do you want to go out with a guy that does?

On the other hand, he could just be 'high-fiving' and being a Bro. But it sounds like it's good he didn't get back to you. You sound more intelligent than Mr. BroMan.

I should add that I'm not against porn or even strip clubs per se, although something about Hooters is gross because of the way they make it a "Family" Bar. I think your ogling and your family should be separate, thankyouverymuch.

And regardless, it's about what YOU are looking for. If that turns you off, you don't have to pursue him. That's part of getting to know somebody and if their personality repels you, that's the info you need to know.
