Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hey guys. This is my first post on my frist day of this website. My therapist wanted me to try it out since I am, as she said, the most severe case of bipolar disorder she's ever seen. So that's nice, right? Right. I am bipolar with psychotic features and rapid cycling. I also have PTSD (thank you US Navy), dissociative disorder, and fibromyalgia. Despite these things I like to camp and hike and hang out with friends. I try to still be active despite all my issues, which are numerous and varied. So yeah, that's it for me...Hope I get a chance to know some of y'all and at least share the pain. Hope your day is going well!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I was dx'ed Bipolar so long ago that it was called Manic Depression for the first umpteen years of my therapy. When the PTSD dx became available, there was some debate on whether to declare the BP dx an official misdiagnosis. I didn't see the point and surely don't want to invalidate the many useful tools I picked up in BP therapy. The symptoms and treatments overlap ALLOT.
For what it's worth, there is also a PTSD forum here, along with many other forums. It's worth surfing around and checking them out. I find it easier to hold a steady course with a broad support base.
I’m in the same boat as you! Have same diagnosis! I just joined today. There are no support groups in my area and Seattle is too far to drive. I’m happy to be able to talk with others in my same situation! Have a great day everyone!
There are some great people here.
I'm still trying to just get by too. I hope you find as much support as I have here. This is a good group.
This is a good place to land sometimes folks who suffer the slings and arrows of BP can help you along with your medication regimen...we all need support!
