I agree with CrazyChick and Kibbers about the newbies and the boards.

ahh ok crzy so then the clics can have their own private rooms....good deal....might keep some of them off the boards....hmm probably not....

What will probably happen is friends go in the chat room to gossip about other members... sorry but I am suspicious about some people on here!

I don't care about the gossip and all that.

I'm worried about the main board dying off. Any newbies coming and looking around. No new posts happing. They ask a question and no one answers because everyone is off in chat.

I know I'm not going to be liked for saying all this.

Again in the case of someone in NEED I think it's GREAT.

Flip the coin and I guess I HAVE to say that if it is an invite thing then IF you KNOW the person is not underage then you know it's safe to have those sex topics. So I see it solving those issues.

I dunno. Just afraid about the main board being ignored and losing ppl that are seeking help.

The boards are a bit like that already. I suppose this will be a better way of doing it.

CRZYCHICK....I like your thoughts on this new chat room gadget...LOL.. I think alot of people do write messages, and dont always go on the board now..I am one of them..I come to the board to catch up a bit, but still prefer messages and hugs sometimes.. There is alot of fighting on the board..I have been here for awhile, and we have a big turn over of newbies..I dont think there will be a chance of the board dying down or out really.

But I like some of the fears you have for the board.. I think people here, will always come back to the board and play..

I was once using an open chat room for bp on aol, before i found here there was some fun time but it was hard to get serious about a topic when things got real busy and you couldn't go back and hear what other people said with out reading all the bs

I've been waiting for something like this to happen. I would really like to see Doug add something like a recovery chat room that would hold a meeting format hour for discussion and topic. One that is also open for those in crisis like on hildays. During that time, we could each pledge an hour of the 24 hour period to be available for those who need to reach out and talk. BUT, there would be a strict rule that all idle chat would either go back to the board or private chats. I think it would be a great asset to this place.

It may take some time to get it in it's true form, but I don't believe we would be sorry, delusiond. but those who want to see it work for the good of all will remain steadfast. I don't get THAT discouraged that easily.
