I have been dealing with bi polar for a lot of years now. I also have PTSD. I wish I could say there is a tried and true plan to successfully beat this illness but there isn't. What works for one person might not work for another. I suffered horrible abuse as a child and was left with no self esteem. But in order to find some kind of worth I started making things with my hands. I painted and I sewed and I did every craft under the sun. Making beautiful things sort of replaced the ugliness in my life. But I still have bad days. And for people who don't want to accept that they have an illness. You are just prolonging your agony by not treating a treatable illness. Take your medicine. And if one doesn't work try another one. But please don't just do nothing. Mental disease is painful when you don't treat it. I hope I didn't say too much.

Glad you found your artistic expression, Bumbly, and that it has served you well. Artistic expression ranks pretty high as one of my own most effective therapy tools. I am especially proud of my "guit-chi" where I strap on a guitar and use sound, rhythm and movement to inventory and balance my condition of the day.
