This may seem like a totally weird question but I need to know if this has happened to anyone else here. I never told anyone before but after being told that some people in a state of mania experience a feeling that they have extraordinary powers or abilities, I realized that I never thought this applied to me....but it does.
People had explained this to me before but they talked about people leaping off buildings because they thought they could fly and my experiences were never that extreme.
I've actually thought I could fly before but had to harness that power properly to use it. I would stand still (arms down not up) and concentrate until I was shaking trying to just get a few inches off the ground. I thought anyone who tried hard enough, could do it...I just lacked practice. I have dreamed that same thing and in those dreams in worked either with me moving just a few inches or feet. Other times, I thought I had memories of that happening and I couldn't figure out if I was awake or asleep.
I freaked out my sister in a restaurant because I was holding my hands close to each other trying to create a ball/spark of electricity. It wasn't the first time I had tried to conduct electricity between my hands but the first time someone had 'caught' me. I didn't even realize that I wasn't being 'subtle' about it.
The only reason I came to the realization that it might be connected is because I was watching a support video about being manic and they mentioned people thinking they had extraordinary powers and showed a picture of a girl with her hands cupped together with an orb of light in them and I said "OMG, that has been me..."
I've brushed it off several times in the past as me just being silly or day dreaming but in those moments, I am positive that I can do it and sometimes even get very agitated when I can't. I've loved superheroes and comics since I was a kid and sometimes thought it was just me foolishly wishing that there was something about me that was special.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Ability to read peoples minds
Ability to diagnose peoples illnesses ( I was actually able to do this for 2 people ! no shit ! )
Ability to heal..and yep, me too, I've had several people tell me I have healing powers.
Ability to locate missing people by remote viewing
No wonder I miss mania..I WAS a Super Hero !
the thing is i was/"am" a massage therapist, and one time was working in a chiropractic office, and i woman came in with terrible pain in her back that the hospital could do nothing about, i helped her. the chiropractor was amazed and then shrugged it off because there was no scientific explanation. though something felt like it was happening, and i had the belief i could help her.
laying of hands.. i think we are all very capable of this with the right presence.
i've had all kinds of way out there things, actually happen.. and be witnessed by others, proving i am not entirely whackadoo. if others see/feel/hear it too, kinda hard to pin it on my freakishness. just sayin' ...but i don't think any of this helps in a manic phase. at that point you just need serious attention/help. for certain.
and i'm serious on the prophetic dreaming. how can that be a "defect," or skewed perception of reality.. when i dream the dream and the same thing really happens.
so it really annoys me when people are all "that's not based on science".... noo, it's not based on what we know of science, or have discovered yet.
tell me that doctors prescribing meds that they openly admit, they do not know what the chemical mechanism of their performance/effectiveness is, is science. it's not.
if the don't know how it works, all they know is that it does... come on. take your science and shove it.
My Pdoc says this is very common with BP I people
I thought I could make pple levitate
I though I could see through walls and then I realized it was just an hallucination.
And I too though could fly.
that is so weird. same thing, different states, one biological.. one drug induced. weewd.
