Hey Guys, Was wondering if anyone sedates themselves....say when you've been prescribed a med and have to wait to start it for one reason or another. In my case it's insurance. Anyway, I'm having meltdowns, my docs know this, so I sedate myself with my klonopin and muscle relaxants, carefully but I do it. I was wondering how many of you guys do the same??

Yes. With my docs help- HIGH doses of Klonopin + HIGH doses of Seroquel. Or, Haldol on it's own.

everyday. second to my family, my constant companion is ativan and benedryl, i don't go a day without sedating myself at one point or another.

I think it's very dangerous what you're doing. Couldn't pdoc script something? Like seroquel?

yep, Beer, liquor or if I can't get those for some reason, lots of motrin. (R)

I told him that I was having some bad episodes, didn't think klonopin was working.....i told him i'm taking extra klonopin and flexeril so I can sleep. He prescribed geodon, I can't get it yet and here I sit....loosing it. The office is aware and sending me papers to fill out for a script plan through the company who makes geodon. wtf??

can you ask for samples? my pdoc is great for those.

I did call for samples but they don't have my dose and it's capsule form. I'm wondering if it's divine intervention and I shouldn't even start the damn geodon.

Most nights yes. With a combo of Seroquel, Clonazapam and Wine. I know...I'm working on it.

It's hard to say about the geodon. You won't know till you try it. I have sedated myself lightly in the past but not for a long while.

Yes,when I get into a crying jag,or really aggitated,I use Xanax,I sleep it off,if I wake up still feeling aggitated or stilll crying,I take another dose of Xanax..it's the only way I can find peace sometimes.

Extra Seroquel...or the Ativan if it is really getting rough.

Yes if I'm bad and need sleep i use diazepam and zopiclone to sedate myself, but not on a regular basis just as and when I need to

usually take xanax and tranzadone. not helping. just took a 2nd xanax and still not working. i need sleep. new doc wont get me in until end of march although i called 3 times and said it was urgent. was supposed to go in feb but they made mistake of date. and i even showed up and they wouldnt get me in. having hallucinations also and nightmares. cant believe i cant get help.
