Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
i feel like i don't have a very typical life - I have schizoaffective disorder, I live in a 'board and care' and I work part time at the local grocery store. i am 48 years old - and socially kind of quiet and awkward in person. Today after I came home from work - I struggled with myself
to do as much busy work as I could until it was my usual time to get ready for bed - bed down and go to sleep. I was still awake and listening to the conversations in the hall and kitchen. A lady who lives here was complaining about the owner who was being agressive
and then the conversation switched to her talking about her struggles with her family.
As I layed here alone - totally single - and for a little while tonight I found it hard to appreciate my life - things changed for the better in that
I thought about something my sister said. Our family members are very active in their work and we don't see each other too much - and none of us have a very conventional life. I just thought to share the thoughts of kind of looking at our lives - as the holidays approach too.
There's no Norma Rockwell picture here on my end but maybe I shouldn't look for one - and start maybe looking for those things that bring us to commonality. I feel better about putting this here - because the support you guys give is so great.
Have a good night Guys and Gals.

It's really hitting me since my mother passed a few months ago, plus stress from having to eventually move. Also having my niece coming around who suffers bipolar and refuses to take medication for it. Its been...

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

Are you a lie-awake-thinking kind of guy? I try not to be that kinda' gal, but it happens. I've been told I think too much. Do you? All and all life keeps moving forward and it's the old if we don't it's hard to catch............NO. It is okay to relax, think, not do a thing and then when you are happy about how things, family too, ended up ~ it is alright to just be, well, uncomplicated?
From your journals and posts I get that anyway...take care. You did a great post.:)
Why worry about Typical, Mark? You are fine just the way you are. So are all the people I don't have the time or social interest to know up close and personal. Viva la diversidad. Long live diversity. I can't even imagine how boring life would be without variety.
Sleep well, weirdo.
There is such a thing as living a pretty good life which is sounds like you do and hold down a job yet!
You are a welcome friend and who can ask for more?
I think you are a wonderful person Marky and I appreciate you... You are kind and warm and have great insight .... Big hug of comfort and support.....xo
