Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

When anger becomes a standard reaction to everything in our lives, it is not healthy.
I am very slow to anger. I tend to avoid conflict if at all possible.
Typically if for some reason I am pushed to that boiling point, I do not hold back~~there is so much intensity inside me that I feel like the shrill whistle on a steam engine blowing off and piercing everyone's ears.
My anger doesn't manifest itself as physical violence; however, I can cut you to the bone with words~~I rarely use curse words, and I have been told that I rarely raise my voice~~though after I have said my peace I always feel as though I have been yelling.
A friend I have known my entire life says that you can literally see the emotion fly over me~~my body language, facial expression, tone of voice, everything suddenly changes and she says it catches people off guard and sometimes changes the dynamics in the room.
She jokingly tells me that if she hadn't known me forever she would be frightened to death of me. If I had not witnessed the exact same behavior in my Dad, I would probably think that she is just crazy, but I know I am very much my Dad's daughter. Once we say our peace, we are finished. The anger just fades away with the last few words. I always feel utterly drained afterwords, but I also have a great sense of relief.
...Your turn....
dumb things make me lose it im hopeing that the meds will help and work because this is getting exhausting
I get all red when I'm angry so I can't hide it--people get freaked like I'm going to hit them, but it is just some autonomic response and doesn't mean I'm THAT angry. Anybody else get that?
I heard on tv recently that re: flight or fight--some people fight too much. That's my new motto--don't fight everything, pick your battles.
