I think there is some good in all religions if we look for it. In addition I feel that all religions were established to control the adherents and enrich the priest/leader class. I think it's possible to take the good and leave the bad of religion without
being part of any one religion. Good luck with your search!

Research the true history of Christianity. Like the (sp) apolite books of the gospel. Gospel of Mary, Gospel of Judas which proves he never hung himself or gutted himself.

Study the early Israelite, the Angels of Thunder, the followers of other Christs after Jesus.

I went down that path once too. I looked at Buddism and Paganism in general and decidedI don't really need any of them. I guess you could call me agnostic now, but I prefer I-Don't-Carist. I do have a very strong belief regarding the god of the Bible if he does exist, but it's a very negative one.

I am an athiest and believe that religion is a bunch of nonsense. Spirituality is another matter because it does not involve groupthink and a feeling of superiority as in religions. I would recommend finding some type of individual/spirtual type of method to help you cope with having bipolar disorder. Religions tend to be to judgemental towards people with mental illness and you deserve better.

Why look for another religion? Theyre all the same

Of course, we all know that OUR religion is right, and everybody else is wrong.

To soften things a bit, I don't care what other people believe, as long as they don't hit me in the nose with their sacred tome. Those things are usually heavy and they hurt.

Faith, whatever direction you choose, can only be a positive influence in your life when you open your heart and allow it to be., My experience with christianity is much different than yours. I hope you find the faith that suits your needs and brings you the peace you seek.....xo

But that is just my opinion. I have tons of religious friends and I respect their beliefs and their right to have them.

I'm with those who don't believe in fundamentalists or with anyone who put their lives in others hands. I guess some would call me an athiest but I would call myself an agnostic. I like what Freeheeler says and I like what I have heard Fish say in the past. But I also believe strongly that whatever gets you through the night is alright is alright is alright, to mention the Beatles.

Shelly, your posts here are so thoughtful and kind. I've known a few genuinely good religious people. It is people like you, Zany and others I've known in real life that keep me from being completely dismissive towards religion.
