Here is my advice about the credit cards.....DON"T DO IT. Credit will ultimately lead to trouble. Unless you really do know how to use it.

As far as the jeans go....

I do not see why you feel you have to return the JC Penny jeans and buy the others from Kmart. Have you ever seen a 17 year old throw a tantrum because she did not get her way? Do you think your daughter will love you less if you say no? And what happens when she does grow up? Will she be able to make her own decisions? Move out on her own and lead a productive life? Stomping her feet and yelling at her boss because he will not buy her the computer she wants for her work station?

I don't think it's a clique thing that your posts don't really fly here...I think it's because they're so indulgent & silly & lack self awareness.

& this thing of deferring responsibility to someone else in your postsie/ 'husband says', 'friend thinks' now 'child wants'. Just say what you think...try it, instead of passing responsibility.

I agree with Lou, although yes some people do talk to some more than others, its not really a clique as such, just that they are friends or have something of interest to say

Here's my thoughts- while spending is a serious bp issue that we need help with, these posts seem to scream dependency on this site. BPP if you need to come here everytime you have a shopping question, you have a problem. These dont' sound like manic sprees that you need intervention for, but really mundane questions. I think it's time to back away from posting for awhile...

As for your child, is she YOUR CHILD? Make her wear the damn jeans. Shes not the boss and unless there is something drastically wrong with them it will help her learn.

It seems like people only want to respond with something negative. The first few posts are usually helpful and serious. Then, it just goes downhill from there. I don't know if she likes the attention or not. I certainly would not. I wouldn't post if I kept getting this reaction.

I hope i dont come across as mean although I can see why other people are mean... giving someon advice over and over which they dont seem to take or listen to is annoying but i dont like the witchhunt. I try to offer advice not just abuse.

I don't think you're being abusive, Choc, but I do think some people are. I can understand what you're saying about some people giving advice over and over again and becoming frustrated. That's a valid point, but they are free to just avoid and ignore the post at that point. They don't have to be involved in a witch hunt, as you put it. Just my opinion.

Yeah I agree. Some people disappoint me but doing nothing in their replies but be abusive. It doesnt help, this is a support board above all else. Just stay away from the post if there nothing positive you can say
