Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have always had a difficult time with memory for some things but it actually seems a bit easier now that I have more coping skills and understand my learning style.
Good luck with your ventures T. xo
One interesting thinga bout school and bp. I'd occasionally stink up exams and papers when the depressions hit. But you get to average things out in school.
I'd recommend going back as an adult. All of the things that you learned in the schoolk of hard knocks that is life, those things make you strong when you go back.
I go and take continuing education courses......
Our brains arent officially mush just because we have bipolar disorder!!!! Is there an order out there that says we cant further our education????
FUCK EM! Show EM JUst how BRILLIANT WE CAN BE!
There are a lot of young people on there who are really, really smart!! :)
Your college may have a support group for older learners even if it's on-line. I took one course in Women's Studies on-line and they had an on-line support group for adult learners just to communicate and hang out with. I met many valuable people that way.
My husband is 50. He has had several severe major depressions and is currently still struggling but making it. BUT, he went back to school 2 years ago. He has 5 weeks left in his AA program to be a respiratory therapist! He has received a lot of support, extra tutoring as well as an expensive computer program that he uses to scan his texts into so the computer can read it back to him(he has dyslexia too).
i was just wondering though how you are doing? i'm 6 months away from graduation.
