Sorry your suffering - but Extremely Common - in other words, you are not alone - damnit

Last month, I spent over 2000 on my credit card. I have no idea how or where it went but I can't pay it off and I'm now starting to worry. Last month, however, I didn't give a hoot - which is probably why I can't remember where all the dough went!

exactly i didnt care. but now i have bills to pay and negatives in my bank account

I had to learn the hard way. Finally got the mania under control with lithium and now I can worry about other things.

I had to learn the hard way to....I ended up in bankruptcy and it wasn't fun... My credit is fugged...

Tips I now use.... I only use cash and I take a limited amount out at a time so if I want something extra I have to actually go to the bank and take out that limited amount...I don't use my bank card at stores

I would also get rid of or lock up any credit card.... I wouldn't carry it at all and if there's someone you completely trust perhaps you could have them hold it for you in case of emergencies..

SunCloud, Tommy & Gina are right on....I tend to think I deserve stuff when I'm high but paying the bills when I'm low just had to stop....

Yeah, I would "invest" in an expensive computer for a biz that was a pipe dream. And be pretty unbearable trying to get support from "Andy Roberts" in India. Ha!

Anyway I was an accountant and that awareness of what I could spend and that the bills had to be paid kept from ruin. Thank God. My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced this.

gosh, I'm Sorry, beccs! Yes, we get it, though. Money is often Horrible for bipolars. I hope it doesn't cause you any long-term financial strain!

Amateur! I spend $6k a week lol. I try to blow it on bills and stuff my business needs to justify and fulfill the urge to spend but EBay still gets me in the end sometimes. At least I know where it went so I can resell it on ebay later LOL

Always keep receipts so you can return what you can when your back in your right mind!!

YES . over spender here too . I like the comment not caring or really thinking about spending , I want it now and I should have irt feeling , bankruptcy . then building credit back up and doing it all over again . all my credit cards are in default and we are being sued . not the first time either .
I have no credit cards right now and should never have one again , however I still get excited when a pr e approved credit card or catalog comes along .
there have been so many times I've come home with stuff , a lot of stuff only to have to return it and that is sooo embarrassing !

sometimes I go into the store and fill my cart up with all the stuff I would like , my heart pounding , anxiety , wanting it so bad , to be able to leave the cart and walk out . buying nothing , but that is embarrassing too ! LOL

it may seem amateur to you @nobody666 but Im 22 work 30 + hours a week and make 11 an hour.. 600 to me is alot and a necessity for credit card bills and phone bill and such but i walked away with two new tattoos a piece of jewlery and im honestly not sure where the rest of it went...

I had to do bankruptcy also. I did manage to keep my car that i had traded my only 8 month old car in for but took me 7 years of working with the bank to pay it off .......they didn't want it back lol

its hard when you get that spending phase going. cloths trips gifts for people yep i remember and I am so sorry your going through the after math now
