We get paid sometime during the first week of the month is when we are allowed out draw check....My christmas is paying our mortage up to par...The kids will have another small x-mas but at least they will have a roof over their head....

i have noone to spend my money on so i will donate some money to the little children who have very little.my son will not accept anything that i want to give to my grandaughters so they will be giving some of their money to santa claus and some to a bank account in their name.

Black Friday scares me. So many people with so many agendas. Im shopping on line. I would rather pay the shipping charges then deal with people. Looking forwar to Cyber Monday.

Jess and Mushroom, it is called "black friday" because it is suppose to put retailers "in the black" (profits) who have been running in "the red" (negative) all year. They hope that people will spend enough money to increase their revenues enough to create a profit.

I dont do it, not worth it for me. I work at a christmas tree farm that day instead and love it. We have cut way back this year and my kids are only getting on gift under $50. I give alot of gift cards since everything goes on sale after Christmas anyway. More for your money.

I just found out about this when my daughter demanded I buy her wedding gift on line, with a special code.I saved $47 on shipping, for something I would have had to buy anyway.

Of course, in Canada, we don't have Thanksgiving in Nov., so no Black Friday either. We have something similar on Boxing Day, the day after Christmas. people stand in line all night to get "door crasher" specials.

I'm in a very ant-consumerist state right now. I just finished my 10 page paper on Christian Environmental Ethics.It is 22 pages long. (Yes, lots of editing is needed!) Practically, I have decided to buy a well for a village in Africa that has no clean water instead of buying Christmas presents for my grown children and parents who are millionaires. I am sure they will think it is bipolar madness. But I hope the well will save lives, and from the women from having to walk for miles with jugs on their heads daily for water.

We have a choice to spend and consume, or to resist the temptation for each new toy, gimmick, gadget that is advertised. Consumerism is life sucking, results in poverty in the Third World, as we use up valuable resources for selfish needs, and more pollution, because the things we buy are not made to last, and then end up in land fills.

Wow. Give CLEAN WATER to a VILLAGE is a wonderful way to feed souls at Christmas time.

I wish sometimes to be "wealthy" so I can turn around and give it to causes such as this.

Reality is, I can't even afford to live day to day, let alone spend money I don't have. It's cash or nothing at this time. Will I let it break me or evolve me?
