Hi tats69 -- I take 300mg luvox (for OCD) and 150mg Wellbutrin for depression. I also take an antipsychotic and benzodiazepam.

Aplenzin - I think it is 522 mg? Aplenzin, I think, is like a version of Wellbutrin. In the same family kind of thing. I find that as I've gotten older the hypo stuff has died down while the depression goes up.

Hi, I take prozac 100/day along with topamax 400, eltroxin 125, xanax .5 x 3 as needed, vitamin d3 3200, risperidal as needed, klonopin as needed. need to take the risperidal more often but hate the fact that it causes weight gain.

Effexor. Its the only AD that doesn't poop out on me. Too bad it causes mania. I take antipsychotics when mania strikes. How about you tats?

I was actually initially mis-Dx'd with Depression by a GenPrac, and the three antidepressants she put me on (Prozac, Wellbutrin, and another I can't remember) did this for me in this order during about a month of use each:

1. Made me feel better, then shot me straight to suicidal depression.

2. Nothing.

3. Skyrocketed me to my worst (at that time) Psychotic break ever and made me think I was Schizophrenic.

Luckily I was sent to an actual Pdoc after stopping all meds but remaining in a totally disorienting rapid-cycle (i.e. days, not weeks). Over the next two years I was Dx'd three different times by three different Pdocs with BP I. And then I found out my mother had it. And my grandfather. And...well. You get the idea ;)

When I sought treatment in my late 40's, I saw a Nurse Practioner

With out taking a through back ground of moods , she assumed I was a peri-menopausal depressed woman.

She Rxed Paxil.

I was fine for a couple of months, then had a total break down.

Initially Zoloft was my first med ever due to post-partum depression and I did very well on it for a few years but when I was in the height of everything leading to BP1 dx I had to go off of it due to mania.

There was an in between stage a internist put me on wellbutrin but lost my mind on it. Bad drug fro me.

Anywhooo- I was on abilify max rec. dose- 30 mg.

I live with schizoaffective disorder (bipolar 1 subtype) and take many different meds. For depression I take lamictal and lexapro but I am also on a lot of zyprexa because anti-depressants make me paranoid and psychotic and I end up in the hospital.

I take Celexa 40mg.

I take 300mg of Trazodone at night as my antid. Plus I'm on other stuff for bring BP1.

I'm BP1 and I tried Zoloft, didn't do a thing for me, then I tried Wellbutrin at to high a dosage and it made me manic. Lowered the dosage and it works fine for me now, I take it with Geodon.

In the past, antidepressants made me rapid cycle. I'm on one now for my anxiety, but it's been ok since being on 2 mood stabilizers.

My anti-depressant is Brintellix..it is a new one and I take abilify with it along with a few other things. But I have always had to be careful with any type of AD or I get manic.
