Behind on my psychiatry bill

Just need to vent. I hate that we have to pay for healthcare in the US. I'm behind on my bill and can't make a new appointment until it's caught up. I'm running out of meds too. I might have to borrow money from my parents which I hate doing. I also might eventually have to find a new provider that charges less, but it took me so long to get an appointment at this office. I'm just really frustrated about this whole thing.

It's understandable to feel frustrated by having to pay so much money for medical care in the US. I live in Canada, and while healthcare is free, we have long waiting lists for specialists like psychiatry and they kick you out as soon as they can. Also, a lot of people don't have family doctors because we don't have enough. There are weaknesses in both systems. I hope you can figure something out.

My disability and insurance are both up for review. And I owe mom money. So I get the financial stress.
Finding a psychiatrist is no joke! The waiting list is months long and what can you do but wait? Can you at least call your prescribing dr or your family dr for refills? Once I couldn’t reach my psychiatrist for a refill and I was running out so I called my family dr and she refilled my script over the phone. Maybe worth checking it out?

You don't have to pay "so much money" for healthcare in the U.S., there is affordable, good insurance available at healthcare.gov. I have an excellent BCBS policy, I don't pay a ton of money for it, I still work, and I don't have large copays for Dr.'s, Medical or Mental Health. I have 8 Medical Specialist and 2 Mental Health Specialist that I have to see regularly, monthly/weekly....I could not afford all those Dr.'s and tests without affordable insurance.

Anyone in the U.S. can get insurance through healthcare.gov., you just have to go check it out.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
